Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast was the best Sonic game ever!!!
Don't like falling asleep during running Sonic of the Mega Drive times... Sonic Adventure was the first speedy Sonic, Sega always promised. So many Characters, so many different stories and so much extra content make out THE best Sonic Game. And it came out in 2000!!! So 90's Sonic were kinda meh!!!

To Sega: LESS Sonic (like zero of him), MORE Ristar, Vectorman, and Shenmue. Sega can publish a good game (see anything by Platinum Games), they just seem to now be incapable of developing a good game.
Oh not to provoke or anything but besides sonic 2 the 2player splitscreen-mode sonic has always sucked bigtime. The titles always bring me nausea beyond any recognition.
Also, 4Kids hurt Sonic badly in more ways than one. The voice actors before 4Kids were pretty good actually. To me, Sonic 3 & Knucles and Sonic & Knuckles was the Sonic franchise's finest hour. Hopefully, Sonic 4 will bring Sonic back to his former glory. Also, the only characters that need to stay in the franchise are Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Dr. Eggamn, Shadow, Blaze, and Metal Sonic. Every other character can go, especially Silver and Big.
I agree Sonic isn't dead but until Sonic 06 was released it kinda felt like that in the atmosphere however Sonic Advance/ Rush series are great games so while the Home Console games are decent at best the Handheld Sonic games where Sonic had always been great and Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode 1 will definitely be a Franchise revival for the Home Console fans.
Sonic died to me the day I played Sonic Heroes. I haven't even been able to go back without being reminded by how horrible that game was

that entire 1st post could just be stated as "I like sonic and dont think he is terrible" you dont need to write a huge post for it
anyway, i dont like sonic anymore. i was wondering what sega was even thinking about with their 3d games. you said "they are, by any persons standards, good games!" and that is a terrible point. according to review scores and the public, they arent good. all your points on them actually being good are speculation, not factual. (sorry i just got back from debate class)
