I ended super meat boy within an hour or 2. I was around mid platinum(if I remember that was the highest rank) in Rayman Legends online leader boards. I've completed Mario 3D world very last stage with all 5 characters. I've even finished cat Mario easily once I know where the cheap deaths are.

Please recommend are really really really hard platformer to me that is accessible on PC, Nintendo consoles or on the PS4. I've heard Mario Lost levels are really hard but I'm trying to figure out a way to get that game ATM without PC controls because controller > keyboard for platformers

I think it is safe to say I have the biggest Metroid collection

Have you tried Super Luigi U?

Anyway, if you want Super Mario The Lost Levels, it should be available on virtual console on the WiiU or the wii.

Yea, I've played Luigi U, it really didn't felt that difficult at all other than some very, very obscure coins hidden in the stage.

There is lost levels on Wii U? Oh cool, thank you very much. I tried looking but I didn't find it the first time around (hopefully it's on AU Eshop)

If it's not on the eShop, then it should definitely be on the wii shop channel (in wii mode).

Other options include getting the super Mario all star wii disc or Super Mario Bros Deluxe on the 3DS virtual console, which comes with the lost levels as well as the first game.

And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)

@Snow-Dust
it plays like a 1st gen castlevania game.
if you asked for a non slow and challenging platformer i cant recommend any other game as serious as this.

Metroidvania is good, my favorite franchise is Metroid. Though I do prefer faster pace platformers in general

I'd recommend the Mega Man Legacy Collection, if you've not played Mega Man 1-6 already! It's available on PS4, PC and 3DS.

At least 2'8".

@Snow-Dust Although I just about managed to complete the game itself, there are lots of bonus/side challenges that are known to have folks pulling their hair out. It's Guacamelee!! that I am talking about, which is available on all three platforms you seem to have.

It is one of my all time favourite indie game!

I completely forgot to pick this one up! Hopefully the hair pulling is real. I will get back to you on this topic (if you are interested in my crappy ratings) once I play those areas and rate it to my other experiences

Try "You still won't make it" or Arcade Ghosts n Goblins. (Actually there are loads of Arcade games that fit what you want).

@unrandomsam arcade is brutal man, I remember when I was a kid playing Contra. I'm not lying but I reached (lv4?) the stage with the lava and stuff.

My biggest gripe with arcade is that most of it's difficulty leans towards you having to not screw up at all since losing all stock means starting from stage 1 all over again and platformers has too many trial and error to pass a stage

If you've not tried Aban Hawkin & The 1001 Spikes, it is a hard-as-nails old school style platformer. Loads of trial and error level design meaning memorization of levels and timing through them is key. I fell in love with the original 1000 Spikes version, and I've heard nothing but good things about the 1001 Spikes version.

Have you ever played battle toads? It may sound silly, but I've heard lots of people say that it's the hardest game ever, so if you're interested in difficulty, it might be worth checking out

NinChocolate

Rocket Knight Adventures (Genesis)
Sparkster: RKA2 (Genesis)
Sparkster (SNES)

All three are great, fast paced platformers

Why not try a few ROM hacks or something? It's not like there's a lack of kaizo hacks for Super Mario World, and some of them are certainly difficult enough to keep you there a while (especially if you limit save states/rewinds).

Or how about some fan games based on platform hell titles? I Wanna Be the Guy has a whole forum section full of fan games based on it. Many of those are extremely difficult, take a long time to complete and will challenge you more than anything released 'officially'.
