Topic: Blizzard Cancels MMO Titan

For years now Blizzard has been quiet about an up coming MMO called Titan. Something that wasn't going to be a part of the Warcraft franchise which had many speculate that it was either a Starcraft MMO or something entirely new.

After countless months of being silent about Titan, developers of Titan being shifted to other projects like Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm, Blizzard today has broken its silence about Titan and it may not be what fans wanted to hear.

Titan has been official cancelled.

According to the co-founder of Blizzard Mike Morhaime they just weren't having fun anymore. Chris Metzen said that after stepping back and reevaluating the project the team reassessed why the hell are they doing this thing.

This isn't the first cancelled project for Blizzard many my recall the cancelled projects Warcraft Adventures and Starcraft Ghost.

Honestly I figured it was pretty much cancelled with the release of Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm and no news of Titan. I can respect this decision yeah I know alot of people were curious about it but I would rather have them cancel something that they aren't happy with rather then release something that was junk.

Were any of you guys looking forward to this game?

If only Activision used the same principles on Call of Duty.

Ya, Activision should throw away 10+ million in guaranteed sales each year....

You guys realize that Activision and Blizzard are run like separate entities. Yes the full name is Activison/Blizzard but one does not have anything to do with the other.

except for them being the same company...

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

They are but they aren't. The Activision side does the Activision stuff like CoD and what not and the Blizzard side does the Blizzard stuff like WoW and Diablo. The Activision part doesn't have any hearsay on the Blizzard part and vice versa.

Right, because they are the same company. One did not buy out the other, they just merged. That doesn't mean they are not effected by each other, just that one is not in charge of the other.

They both were bought out a few years ago by Vivendi games which made it Activision/Blizzard. However last year they split from Vivendi and became their won entity as Activision/Blizzard.

Wow... I actually didn't know about this. I was pumped for Titan, but I guess that won't pan out now. Are we truly starting to the leave the era of the Blizzard MMO? That makes me kind of sad, even though I know, logically, that I don't have time in my life anymore for MMOs. I guess it's just that darn nostalgia always knocking at the door.

Well, I think our "last chance" may be EQ:Next.
