This was shocking news indeed. I'm glad to hear that it is going to be a prequel. It should be very interesting.

Wow. Glad they're taking the series in a new direction, as although i enjoyed Bioshock, i didn't really feel the need to revisit Rapture for the second game.

I quote myself from the Escapist;

So it's basically Bioshock in the air? Way to keep the originality train going, Irrational Games.

Color me interested. I just wish they made it stand alone, rather than use the Bioshock name.

Sure. Bioshock 1 is much better in my opinion, but the sequel is pretty good too. Rapture is one of the most memorable settings for any game, ever. Now, would you kindly give them a try? (You'll get that last bit after playing the first one)

@Sean.... man, you know how many games I play Bioshock is my stuck at a dead tie for my favorite series of ALL TIME, yeah its that good. Bioshock 2 is great and imo underated severely. The online is incredible and I cant wait to see the new ideas that come out of Kevins crazy head.

If you enjoy excellent atmosphere in your games, then Bioshock is defintiely reccomended. I enjoyed it quite more than i had expected going in, even though i've generally grown tired of FPS-style games.
(And yes, i know Bioshock isn't exactly a FPS per se, but it fits that general mold of gameplay ... probably a little bit closer to the "First Person Adventure" tag that Ninty uses to describe the Prime series.)

Don`t forget the Island of Doctor Death, which, unfortunately no one went to due to the foreboding name. Then there was the Death of Doctor Island, created to make an attempt at fixing the problems with the last failure. Finally, it was a success, thousands of people flock to the island. It was quite unfortunate when the island and everyone on it died due to the gigantic active volcano the island was built on and around.
