All that matters is that New Leaf is coming out tomorrow.

Just for you.

This better not be some sort of mean-spirited joke.

Because only a real monster would be so cruel.

Not going to hold my breath, but I seriously hope we'll finally see this game. The original is an absolutely amazing gem.

Peek-a-boo

Jeez.

Can somebody edit Twilight's message please?!

As for the artwork on Instagram, looks like the pig and Jades father. I hope this doesn't mean the sequel is in fact a prequel...

I was stunned this game was still happening in 2013.

It was only officially announced again over 3 years later.

Think about that.

Can't wait to see another, "we are working on it" announcement in 5 years

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

@DefHalan Well, they only just started pre-production, so it wouldn't surprise me. E3 2018. Mark my words. Launching holiday 2019.

@Octane they announced the game in 2008 but have only begun Pre-production.

To be fair, I have a feeling they hit a restart button at some point for next gen. But still, at the very least they've been teasing this version of this supposedly will exist game since 2013 at the latest. It's been over 3 years.

In the span of that time, Ubisoft has released 4 main console entries of Assassin's Creed (even ignoring standalone DLC games, iOS or that series of 2D games) since then. Assassin's Creed 2 wasn't out when they first announced Beyond Good and Evil 2. This is dumb. Beyond Good and Evil was a 3D Zelda-like that was shorter and smaller than even the N64 Zeldas. It can't be that difficult to make a 2nd one of those, even if you expand on it.

Looks like an Assassin's Creed sized budget for this then. Either that or it'll be absolutely terrible.

Converted from Sony to Nintendo during 7th gen and never looked back.

I assume it's being treated as a high budget game, because of both the scope and the immediate hype put into the last E3 conference. Even Beyond Good and Evil 1...I'm not sure how much it cost compared to other bigger Ubisoft games at the time, but it always felt like a high budget 2003 game to me.

I have some obvious concerns because of certain...modern gaming ideas being put into the game (mainly the general gigantic feel of the game, compared to BGAE's tight game design and world), but it's the same people who last made a 2d platformer, so I'm willing to give a lot of benefit of the doubt. And I'm glad the camera gameplay is still here, that was a big part of the first game. The fact that they are willing to show gameplay so quickly also helps.

The footage definitely helps. My initial impression from the cinematic trailer was that they weren't far enough along to show off any of the gameplay. I'm definitely sensing high production value here.

Yeah, it's good to see they've been working on this for a while. It's real and although it's in a pre-alpha stage, it's playable. Looking at the scope of everything, I wonder if a PS4 can even run this game when it's finished...

kkslider5552000

It can if they aren't so desperate to make it the best looking game possible tbh. Incredibly expansive games are not anything new.

It does not look like the best looking game possible right now. Which is a good thing as it means they're realistic and not pulling a Watch Dogs.

I think the hard necroposting on this thread is appropriate for the subject. I like the hindsight, lol.

I like Zelda but probably not that one.
