Topic: Best PSN exclusives?

Posts 1 to 20 of 23

I'm inheriting a fat PS3 with a broken disc drive next week. Journey is the reason I'm taking it and I'm looking for recommendations for the best PSN exclusive besides Journey. Is there anything else you think I NEED to play? I've got a couple in mind but I wanted some opinions.

I'm not sure about must play for this one but look into Comet Crash, its a great tower defense game that does something intresting and different with the genre. One must play though is the PSone classic Twisted Metal 2. It's an amazing and very fun game.

It's not an exclusive but I highly recommend Outland.

Wipeout HD
PixelJunk Shooter 1, 2, Sidescroller
One Piece: Pirate Warriors

Uh, yeah, that's all from me. I greatly prefer XBLA when it comes to exclusives.

Flower was on the 'possibly' list. I'll Google Trash Panic. How long is The Unfinished Swan? It sounds strange but short games are appealing more and more to me. I don't have loads of time to sit in front of the TV. I'd love to give DOTA or Skyrim a go, but it'd just suck my life away. 5-6 hours is great, but anything more than that on a non-portable format is a big investment, you know? Also, that's a cracking avatar you're rocking there:)
@Splat
Vaguely recall Outland. Again, how long is it?
@Jaz007
Played Twisted Metal at a friend's house when it came out. Was fun, though I think I'd rather leave it as a fond memory. I downloaded Carmageddon free on the iPad a few months back. That game has aged badly.
@CanisWolfred I sold my 360 a couple of years ago when I dropped out of gaming for a while. XBLA was a long way ahead, though I think PSN has fought back well over the past couple of years.

Journey is all you'll ever need.

(Pixel Junk Monsters is challenging and fun.)

That would be the one reason I get a PS3.

If you don't have a 360, then I'm sure PSN games that are also on XBLA would be fine, yes? That broadens things greatly, then.

I wouldn't buy any PSN titles and just get PS+. You'll get more than your fair share of games with that.

I've played several of those. So out of that list which is your favourite? Tokyo Jungle is a possibility.

I read about Papo & Yo this morning. How long is it, roughly?

i'd say Papo & Yo is about 8 hours of play, give or take. it's ingenious and moving. it is the one game i'd add to @blakerton's list for great games.

If I recall correctly, Bomberman had a better version on Xbox and Wii, so I wouldn't get Bomberman Ultra over ANY other current version.
I have Bomberman Ultra on PS3, and it's not even close to being as good as the WiiWare version, although the graphics are better. You can't even move diagonally in Ultra, there's less things you can do, and online is worse.
Don't get Bomberman on PS3.

The Wii Ware version of Bomberman is the best one I've played. I have Ultra, and it's not even close to being as good. I haven't played the Xbox Arcade one though...
There have been Bomberman games with storylines on GCN and N64 with way more features in game. Ultra is the worst Bomberman I've ever played, unless you count the one on Xbox 360 published by Konami.

@dartmonkey
I say you just completely set the PS3 back in time to 2006, and use it as a computer running Linux, then try to use an external disc drive or HDD while using it as a computer.
