Since we are in the midst of the Olympics craze, or at least, I am - I'd really love to play a decent videogame based on the Olympics - no specific system, any'll do. Ideas?!

The Activision Decathlon for the Atari 2600 is a great one. Very basic, but a great overall package. It's only real "flaw" is the control mechanic, which can result in broken controllers and/or blistered palms.

Konami's Track and Field for NES is another personal fave. Great selection of events, and a lot of overall charm.

Those aren't exactly very "Olympic".

(Though my brother got 5 for the ps4 and we couldn't stop playing for a while... You could say it was... A marathon)

...also, I was referring to the political/economic aspects of the Olympics, using a joke that was both opaque, and in poor tastes.

Decathlete on Sega Saturn is a classic. After that, Summer Games 2 on the C64.

My friend says that Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is pretty good (definitely better than Sochi and Rio).
