That being said, it's fair for anyone reading this thread to take either interpretation of its intentions. It is titled "Best FPS," which I'd interpret as a question of objective quality, but the opening post asks "Which [...] is your _favorite?"
The opening post asks that in which interprets the fact he/she wants your opinions which is what I've been trying to say from the beginning.

Im not sure if Chrono Cross falls into this category or not, but I think it is accurate to think that there are younger users here thats sole video gaming experience so far is the Wii. There are very few FPS games on the Wii and The Conduit was one of the most anticipated and covered games on the system. There you would have gamers buying the game over the hype and by not having other FPS experiences think that the game is credible of high praise. Ive yet to play the game myself but I do plan on grabbing it on the cheap, but from others here that Ive heard from since its release, the game was a big dissapointment to many.
Ive enjoyed many FPS games and regardless who consideres what game the best, Ive enjoyed just remembering the many many hours Ive put into some of these game. Im getting old I guess!

I'm not exactly young and I've played almost every "great quality" FPS there is to play and The Conduit sticks out for me. Maybe it was the controls. Maybe it was playing online with some fellow NL friends or maybe it was just I was pretty good at it. Whatever is was it sure makes me feel that this is one of my favorite FPSs in the genre.
You can like whatever you want over whatever there is. No matter of what quality especially when you have "fun" and in a forum topic like this where they ask you for your opinion on your favorite FPS.
It's that simple to understand.

I was always fond of the Conduit's plot. Being a secret agent and shooting monsters Men in Black style? Yes Plz The online mode is also enjoyable, but the glitch can be a nuisance. That, or some hackers can ruin the game. (of course, you can quit a game full of hackers)
Back to the story, it was full of hidden secrets that may be answered in the sequel, which I'm interested in getting. The first game has some nice graphics and such (especially when zooming in with a gun's scope. The blurred effect is VERY nice!). The only thing I wish they would change is to allow a third person viewpoint, but it is a minor gripe.
If the sequel has a glitch-free online mode, a longer campaign mode, and more visual efffects, it just might be my fave FPS since CoD MW: Reflex
@Irken I couldn't agree more. The conduit was a really fun game. I actually liked the storyline and the sequel is going to be way better from what I've read so far (4 player co-op offline I believe), with so many new features and all that.
There's also supposed to be epic boss battles like in Metroid Prime. And ofcourse there will be a much better online mode. And oh so much more.

Definitely
There's no doubt some people are naive when it comes to gaming so that there's games they think deserve high praise, when they're really not all that special, at all.
Anyone can see this by looking at user reviews on any site.
Only on a Nintendo site will Halo be discussed in a "Worst FPS" thread and The Conduit be discussed in a "Best FPS" thread. Funny stuff, it made me LOL.
Yeah really
Goes back to the 'some opinions more valuable than others' thing. There's definitely a lot of bias towards the Wii on this site and it's reasonable to believe that affects their 'true opinions'.
I'm not going to out the user cause I like them so much, but if someone said this would you be asking them to determine what games are the best across multiple systems?
As much as I liked The Conduit, it does not belong here. Enemy A.I was really poor, environments were poorly done and poorly thought out, that multi-player glitch could not have been missed during play testing, only a few multi-player maps. It was basically a poor-man's Halo... Not poor literally

@alex.... the Wii has been one of most up and down systems. Not to mention its right behind the very unoriginal Gamecube wich as a system was nothing special, just underpowered and cheaper than the others. Animosity towards someone being critical towards Nintendo was bound to happen. Doesn't stop me from doing it though.
Ex. I'm sure me along with the few others here raising hell about Nintendo going casual and games being so Dang easy were heard. NSMB Wii and Galaxy 2 are both tough, really tough at points. Needing a kid friendly help system.
We apparently are listened too, the ones defending everything on the other hand, who does that help and/or accomplish?

one of my favorite games in the last 15 yrs was Doom 64, I played that more then OoT & SM64. As for more current games, Doom 3, Modern Warfare 2 (mostly single player & Spec Ops). As others have said, I'm not really that big a FPS fan, I gravitate more towards RPGs, But I like my fair share of FPSs.
Flandre Scarlet, she's cute, she's colorful, she can blow up entire cities, she's also a vampire. Start running sparklepants.

Umm the Gamecube was more powerful than the PS2 and Dreamcast... and the polygon record last gen was held by a Gamecube game(Rogue Squadron). The Gamecube may have been cheaper, but underpowered? Certainly not.
So yer, you can criticise Nintendo but at least get your damn facts straight.

@Oregano... dude I wasnt knocking it and Im not a encylopedia either. I owned a Gamecube as well as a XBOX and PS2 and have a Wii and PS3 now and I cant tell you one spec for anyone of them and could care less out any of that BS. What matters is the games and the Gamcube failed so bad in that aspect I thought Nintendo was going out of the home console market. Did it have great games? Hell yeah, Timesplitters 2, Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes, Double Dash, 1080, WaveRace, etc all of wich I still own today. But the Gamecube couldnt play DVDs wich was a major deal back then as DVD players were pricey and the small disc limited the system (at least that is what Ive read for years). Bottom of the line, the Gamecube was the worst home console Nintendo has ever produced and got slammed for it by Sony and Microsoft! That is facts and specs dont change that a bit!

That's not what you said, you said it was underpowered, which is untrue and specs do change that as the level of power of a console has isn't based on opinion. If I said 'In my opinion the 360 and PS3 are underpowered compared to the Wii' I'd get laughed at but that's pretty much what you claimed.
