Had to do it.... after all the debate on the worst, what is you favorite of All Time?

Bioshock Series is the bread winner for me by far. Rapture, well if you have been there and put time in there you well understand. Just hearning about Rapture sends chills up ones spine, in a I want to go back and hear the music and see the lights through the water, and the dark creepy setting that it is, and that always all knowing fact of what Rapture used to be lingering in every inch of every corrider.

Um, I'm not big into FPSers, but I enjoyed the first Metroid Prime and I had a good time with Water Warfare.

Perfect Dark. I am of the minority who believes it's better than Goldeneye. I don't know how you can deny it's better, though. It's pretty much the same game, with better graphics, more features, and an original story. It was way ahead of its time, especially when it comes to options implemented in the multiplayer arena.

The campaign I enjoyed the most on any FPS was Call of Duty 2 ( PC ). Runner ups are Halo 2 ( XBOX of Course, not for the multiplayer either though ), SHOGO: MOBILE ARMOR DIVISION ( PC, one of my first PC games and it was fun ), Perfect Dark (N64), Agent Under Fire ( Gamecube ), Timesplitters 2 (Gamecube )

Multiplayer ( not big into online games ) the only ones that have kept me interested are Call of Duty Modern Warfare Reflex and Call of Duty World at War.

Chrono_Cross

Definitely Metroid Prime.
I also enjoyed The Conduit, a whole lot.

Just for you.

Perfect Dark or Team Fortress 2.
Although, single-player only...maybe HL2 or Bioshock.

I did not see The Conduit in this thread..

For me all the best FPS games are in the Orange Box.

The Bioshock series is amazing also. Talk about a great environment.

Portal and Metroid Prime are both FPS games, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

And controls are nice and all, but they can't single handedly overtake story, environment, graphics, and literally everything else. Besides almost everyone 'cept the die hard Wii fans will vouch for the key board and mouse as being better than the Wii remote. If anyone says The Conduit is better than Half Life 2 because of that (or any other reason), they have lost any bit of sense they ever had.

I'm also confused as to why developers get credited with a Wii FPS having 'the best controlz evar'. They left everything up to the player and their default control scheme wasn't that great. I hardly see 360/PS3/PC/anyothersystem developers getting praised for letting the player customize the controls, something expected on other platforms and with most games.

The Most FPS Games I have played are mostly Halo Games.
Other then that, I was too young to Play Golden Eye at the Time.
But hearing you guys bring it up on every Thread, may me wish I had a Chance to play it.

Oh yeah, Metroid Prime too, Best FPS on the Wii, and it has a Great Story to it.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

Not sure if it is the best, but Fallout 3 should be on the top 5. If you have a powerfull PC and enjoy modern warfare and realism, then ArmA2.

If Portal is an FPS, then it has to go to Portal. If not, the best FPS I've ever played would have to be Goldeneye Source. Why? Because if you have a Source Engine game on Steam, it's absolutely free. Yes, and go check the ModDB page if you don't believe me!

This is the correct answer for single player. But the multiplayer is less than decent.

Multiplayer belongs to Bad Company 2, in my opinion. Single player is only decent, though.

Overall it's probably COD4.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

Half Life 2 is the best. But my personal favourite would be its predecessor.

Both have done more for the genre than most other titles combined.

Goldeneye. Though I really want to say Fallout 3 I'm not sure you can say that it is an FPS in the truest sense of the term.
Bioshock is also worty of a mention too.
I also did not see The Conduit in this thread either

What's this bit for again?

Machu

The Conduit will get no-where near this thread, and rightly so.

@Machu shhh don't tell anyone but it was mentioned on page 1

Star Wars: Republic Commando is probably my favourite single player FPS. Brilliant game.
