You all have heard my rants on how great this game is but it has now set the “Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever” award in the Guinness World Book of Records. With a 91.67 average on Metacritic is well deserves it too. Great job Eidos.

I noticed somebody on my PSN friends list had a comment about that. Was it you, then? I can't check 'cause you're offline (stupid PSN...why can't I see the comments when they're offline?). Based on the review scores I've seen plus the time I spent with the demo, I'd say the game deserves that record status.

@Stuffgamer1.... yeah my comment says "Away at Arkham" right now. I had a car accident today and a little stiff so i fell asleep for a couple of hours. Im going to get back at it later tonight hopefully. Im having a blast with the game. The demo is really a let down to the game. They took a LOT out of the demo so your not playing thru the demo at the start of the game apparantly but it aslo made it feel a LOT less stellar in the demo than how it all actually plays out. Ill put it to you this way. If this game was the conception of Batman..... Arkham Asylum would be the next Bioshock, Fallout, etc. It is just as good as Bioshock and that is one of the best games Ive ever played.

Actually Eidos is the publisher and RockSteady developed the game sorry about that one.

Well, considering I can't think of ANY good superhero games, it's not like it's that big of an accomplishment.

Good point!

Oh, come on, this is NOT the only good superhero game! Marvel Ultimate Alliance? Wolverine (which some say is better than the movie)? I understand Spiderman 2 was very popular (I was turned off by too many random kids wanting me to fetch balloons, which I couldn't bring myself to ignore; otherwise, it's awesome!). And there are others.

I thought the demo was freaking awesome, so if the game's really THAT much better, I really hope my brother finishes with it soon so I get a crack at it!

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I think it was Bones00's comment that said "Arkham Guiness rec," or something very similar. Cool deal, anyway.

@grenworthshero..... There are a LOT of great superhero games dating all the way back to the NES. Prob hundreds of them actually. Usually the problem is the story follows the movie and you know the outcome already and most of the publishing money is dropped into the film not the games. This is a stand alone with NO movie tie-in. This was just done with Spiderman as well and it did not recieve any rewards are anything and its a pretty great game as well. This game is phenominal. You will honestly feel like you are experiencing Batman for the first time when your playing the game.

Oh and Im prob halfway thru it now and Bats suit is all torn up and he is starting to grow a beard....... Awesome!!!!

If any of them were really that good, I should remember them at least. The most talked-about superhero game I know of is Superman for N64, and that's not a good thing.

Superman 64 sucked so bad it almost made it fun to play. I think I picked it up for like 75cents years ago.

Superman doesn't make for a good video game, because he's supposed to be too super to die from normal video game challenges. In some games, he does anyway, and it's just retarded. In others, they try to give him unusual challenges, and it just flops. Overall, Superman is not a good character to call out as reference for all super hero games.

Matter of fact, I think the X-men have one of the best records for quality games, outside of movie games, of course (and even that exception needs an exception for Wolverine). There are plenty of good superhero games if you know where to look. Check this out for starters.

Honestly...the only good super hero games that pop up into my mind are the X-Men arcade games, the Ultimate Alliance series and the precursor X-Men games, The Batman Animated Series game, I did like the old old Avengers game and that's about it.

I think Arkham is so much better than any of those, that you can't even compare. It stops being one of the best Super Hero games and transends into one of the best games of the year, period, talk....still not sure that it's better than bioshock, though

@ J Bitties.... I agree.... Not as good as Bioshock..... but AS good as Bioshock definatley. Its one of the best games I own out of the hundreds of games I own.

Yeah that didn't exactly come out the way I meant it too If you have played Bioshock and Arkham Asylum they both have very expansive living breathing worlds that are just fantastic.
