Topic: Bad Company 2 or Mario Galaxy 2?

It also has nothing that I haven't seen in a FPS before. Multiplayer is a common element of FPSs nowadays.

SMG2 incorporates Yoshi for new gameplay mechanics, seen in the latest trailer. Also, new power-ups for a similar reason as previously mentioned. As I saw in the new screenshots, more classic-styled enemies will be appearing as well (Whomps are back, for example)

The only thing that worries me is the difficulty. If it has been enhanced, then it may last longer than the first SMG.

That's a pretty hard decision.
Those are two extremely good looking games that are sure to be awesome. I'm gonna have to say save the pre-order on Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and just wait for Galaxy 2. I know either will not be ideal, but it seems like the easiest option.

Screw BC2,screw all these FPS's that are over-hyped and bring on the Galaxy.

Bad Company 2, then get Mario Galaxy 2 for your Birthday. There is absolutely no reason to pre-order Galaxy 2, where as Pre-ordering BC2 nets you a early access to the Rush Squad Mode and an exlusive weapon. Think: Do you want extras, or do you want everything you could've gotten if you had simply waited a little longer?

If he likes the multiplayer (and there's a demo and everything!) then the game can keep him entertained for months.

What you've seen has no bearing on how much he enjoys the mutiplayer.

If not then it's up to the single player of one game or the other. And the addition of Yoshi isn't enough to make some of us jump all over Galaxy 2.

And to most of us, it is.

BB Thrilla does like FPSes. He has also tried the demo and enjoyed it. Chances are he's going to get a lot more out of Bad Company 2 than he would out of Mario Galaxy 2.

Since when? I've played a few CoD games, just bought a used Medal of Honor game, and liked Metroid Prime 3 (if you consider that a FPS, which I don't)

You say you're a fan of the genre, yet you say such ignorant things as "If you've bought one FPS, you've bought them all" or "FPSes are overrated". Such are the statements of onlookers from the outside who happen to see a few similarities between some games and simply assume they are the same.

Sure, you've played a few games here and there, but you still don't care for the genre. You've proven that already with the statements above.

You think BB Thrilla should get Super Mario Galaxy 2 over Bad Company 2, yet you come off as having made such a statement without even taking the preferences of the person you're recommending it to into consideration.

Now, the arguments in favor if Bad Company 2 have already been made: It has a multiplayer that he already apparently enjoys, which will likely mean that he could be playing it for months at a time. It also comes with a pre-order bonus that will likely be of benefit to him. Not to mention the two will be coming out with several months between them, meaning that if he chooses not to get Bad Company 2, he'll have nothing to play for two months.(according to him)

Now, please, explain why you think he should pre-order Mario Galaxy 2 instead.

Please note that he has already expressed great interest in both games, and that even if he chooses not to pre-order Mario Galaxy, he'll still get it for his Birthday in September.

And again it seems I'm one of the three people in the world that would rather not assume someone will agree with my opinion.

You fail to realize he isn't asking (A) what game people like more or (B) your philosophy on the FPS genre. You go with the 'seen one seen them all' approach? That's great, no matter how wrong that is.

I think the ones saying Galaxy 2 are the only ones conceited enough to just post their opinion.

One has online multiplayer and the other doesn't. If someone believes they'll play online for months, they'll get more out of that game than a platformer with just a campaign (which likely won't take long to beat).

That is not an opinion, it's common sense. It doesn't matter how much Nintenfans love Yoshi and all his colors and how much they think all FPS games are the same.

The TC also stated he planned on buying both eventually. Online games are limited, meaning if you get the game later in it's life cycle, it has less online time left. Campaigns are timeless, least till the console breaks. If you're buying Bad Company anyway, might as well get it early so you level up with everyone else and enjoy as much of the online time as possible.

Remember folks, just because this is a Nintendo site doesn't mean the answer HAS to be pro-Nintendo.

I'd say BC2 because of the Muliplayer that,if you like it,you will play for months. Also,getting a FPS on the release day is a great idea,so you don't get your owned by all the other players who has played the game since launch.
Also,most of those who say you should get SMG2 I think only has a Wii...

i DID download the demo and been playing bc2 since the BETA! yea i will get bc2 and mg2 later on, cause it will always be fresh, where bad comapny will too, but its online is dependent on the community!

well thanks for the help. ive decided that its a good idea to get bc2, so its still fresh and get mario galaxy 2 on my birthday! and yes, the people who say galaxy 2 only have a wii(except sean007s). man this is one helpful community!

I would go for Galaxy 2, but then again I only have a Wii, like Mario games a lot, dislike FPS's in general, and love platforming games.

Sine SMG2 is coming out in June can't you get BC2 now and SMG2 then? I get a game about once a month. Except I haven't got any since christmas
