Hmm, that's a tough one. Maybe you should wait and see what reviews Bad Company gets since it's coming out in a few weeks. If it does well, pick it up and get SMG2 at a later date.

Bad Company 2 is everything your going to come to expect to play (especially if you played the demo for it). As for Mario Galaxy 2 well that's the sequel to the most innovative Mario game and 2007's Game of the Year, and everything in SMG2 is brand NEW.

BC2 is coming out soon, Mario is not... Do you want to play now, or later? Unless there is something game-breaking in BC2, it will be a good game. Hopefully it will have that old Battlefield flavour. I miss Battlefield...I'm going to go play 2142

thanks for the help, i will probably get bc2, cause it got good reviews(9.5 and 10) and then i will get mg2!
Isn't that the only review it got so far on Metacritic? Don't go buy a game off of one review especially one that your not so sure about. It could be a bad choice. Especially since it's from GameInformer, ugh...

@BB Thrilla.... Im guessing you didnt download the demo, as you should. BF2 got a 9.5 in GameInformer wich Im sure is the review on Metacritc and that flippin loved it. I enjoyed Galaxy but got bored halfway through. If you like online games I would go with BF and pick up Galaxy later. All online games especially shooter are best at release because your not picking up into it months later and getting slaughtered online trying to learn with guys who have put months into the game.

The same question has rissen with me when I saw all the news today, but it's to hard to make such decision just like that. I know Galaxy2 will be flipping awesome but I'm also having a great time in BC2 with friends so I can't make this an easy decision. My current plan is to just buy BC2 like I would and play it for a month, then decide if I'll sell the game again so I can buy Galaxy or I'll keep BC2 cause it's worth it. Since Wii games are cheaper than other console games and BC2 will still be a new game I don't think it would be hard to get enough money for BC2 to buy Galaxy2. Sounds like a pretty solid idea to me and if I can find a job in the mean time, I might be able to get them both.
Anyway, I think you shouldn't skip BC2 for SMG. Online multiplayers a usually more fun when you play them from the beginning cause it's kinda dependant on the community, while SMG2 is a evergreen that always be an amazing game.
Unless you don't play with friends regularly that is, BC2's multiplayer just isn't so much fun without playing with friends often imo.

Bad Company has the multiplayer so if you're interested in that you can be playing for months.
Galaxy 2 has some planets you can roll through in a rental. I'm guessing most people were like me and finished the first Galaxy and then never touched it again.
