Topic: Are they serious?!

I just read a story about a new system that costs $4K!!! It only has over the top puzzle games and even though it offers HD, only 11 of the games actually have it! And they say the Wii is overpriced?

What system is this?

It's called the JVL Encore HD. It has a bunch of nice features, but like I said, the game selection is awful.

The price seems appropriate given that it's meant as a commercial system, though to be fair i don't know what the prices of other "bar games" systems are like.

I assume you guys haven't been to a bar. This is those gaming things they have at the bar so you can drink beer and waste time. Even in the article, it says it is "spill" resistant. "the shpydar" (and UK gamers over 15) know what I mean.

Yeah, exactly. This is a system made for generating revenue, in the same way that coin-op cabinets are. If you own a busy pub or bar and your patrons are into it, you will be making back that $4k fairly quickly.
