I'm trying to find a PS3 as cheap as I can and the best I found was on Amazon. $299 120GB PS3? Anything better out there?

THERE... ARE... 4 LIGHTS!

There aren't nearly the deals for the PS3 that I've seen for the Xbox and Wii (Gift cards anyone?).
For example, Walmart had two deals recently:
Xbox Elite: Buy it and get a $100 gift card.
Wii: Buy it and get a $50 gift card.

Someone sent me a link (which might have also been Wal-Mart...see a trend?). I didn't save the link it but it went something like this: PS3, a free 2nd controller, 2 games which included Arkahm Asylum and Drake's Fortune (iirc), the Blu-Ray player remote control, and the most recent Batman movie on Blu-Ray. $299. It's the best deal I've seen so far.

@magi that deal was a black friday one, i seriously doubt they are still doing that

While it most certainly may have been a Black Friday deal, I didn't discover it on Wal-Mart's web site until Nov 30th. I just checked my e-mail (a co-worker sent me the link). My memory failed a bit, however, as the price was actually $369 and the 2nd game was Infamous (not Drake's). Maybe this same deal was $299 on Nov 25th?

I think the bottom line is: there does not seem to be the "good deals" on the PS3 that there are on the Wii and Xbox as far as I can tell.

yeah the ps3 is selling too well right now, it doesnt really make sense to advertise deals. the xbox has lost some steam and needs incentive because being the same price as the ps3, the choice is obvious as to which people would buy.

yeah, it was obvious to me too: The Xbox. Hands down.

I believe these deals to be coming from Wal-Mart's pockets and not Microsofts or Nintendo's. It's hard to fathom that the Wii, which was just price dropped by Nintendo, and is now being sold for $199 is being further discounted so that Wal-Mart can toss in an additional $50 gift card. ESPECIALLY considering no other retailer has been offering these types of deals. Same with Microsoft.

"Loss leaders" imo. After all, retailers LOVE gift cards. They guarantee you'll be returning to the store and most people spend more money than what is on the gift card.

Vaynard, if you're interested in buying used, let me know. I have a PS3 that's feeling lonely.

Come on, friends,

@Adam
So you've decided to part ways with your PS3 after all? It's gonna suck losing a fellow PS3 owner but maybe we'll gain another.
