I'm going to be honest here: this looks bad. Really, really, really bad. You basically tap enemies and your party of up to 40 attacks them. You don't select your character, you just tap the enemy to attack and they do so. So it seems like there's little strategy involved at all.

Also, there's fan-service in the game via in-app purchases. So you can add Cloud Strife to your party for a dollar. But oh no, it can't be that simple. You see, your purchases are RANDOMIZED, so you could end up purchasing over a dozen characters before you get the one you want. Oh, and a fever bar sits at the top that refills every three, but you can purchase hourglasses to speed up the process. Sounds like a Zynga game, to be honest.

I like the way Jim Sterling put it by calling it "All the Lamest". Freemium elements and Final Fantasy just don't seem to fit.

so how long before someone remakes it on Newgrounds?

For all we know it's already been done, but without the freemium stuff. So it'd actually be the better game. It's not like it would take much effort, either, since it's pretty much all re-used assets.

No one who plays CCG games like Magic the Gathering ever found this to be an issue. If anything it's a little exciting, like every lottery is.

@Bankai It's because it's a cash grab. Feels like there's no dignity there. Yeah, I guess one could just say "capitalism", but it still doesn't make it seem any less... what's that word I'm looking for? A less harsh term for revolting or insidious.

Also, there's the total lack of effort put into the product being charged. That's also part of why people have a problem with the model. If there was care put into what was being bought at random, then people would probably be less mad at it. But already-made sprites require no effort at all to make.

I suggest you folks never play Magic the Gathering. Or collectibles in general.

There's this series of Lego minifigs where you buy a packet, and in each packet is a random limited edition minifig design. There's about 20 per series. As a Lego fan I have a lot of double ups. But it's fun to collect.

And...I think it is time for me to change my Username for a while. Honestly Square (and Enix) please go back to making handheld games WITH BUTTONS AS THE MAIN METHOD OF CONTROL!!!! Anyway in order for me to change my name back I want see all of this
1. Bravely Default localized
2. Dragon Quest VII localized (I think we will see this at E3)
3. Final Fantasy V, VI, VII remake for the 3DS and/or Wii U ( just one is alright in my book, but all three would be excellent NO MORE IOS!)

Not really what I would expect from a "Square Enix fan."

That's just the thing, though. Those mini figs are limited edition and took some effort to make. I used to collect Pokemon Cards, too. Each was drawn differently, with new designs and everything.

This, however, isn't what All The Bravest does. These are literally the same sprites used in previous games.

Yes if comes to that then that is what I want.Still I can see it being a finical based decision and maybe this does make more cash for them. But all lot of the fanbase (not just me) seems to be losing patience with Square-Enix. And I for one really don't like the whole IOS, app store, android thing which is why this bugs me. Still we are (hopefully) getting Dragon Quest VII by the end of this year or early next year so I can be ( a little) happy about that.
