So I kind of been looking around and... how much games do you usually have in one platform (Not counting PC) during the course of their lifetime?
Just noticed that I kind of seem to be on the lower end of spectrum since after I count my total 3DS purchase (including those that I have sold...) It came to around 20 titles or less, and I'm happy enough with it.
@darkfenrir Around 30 per platform I'd say. That's about six games a year per platform. But that's retail only. I'll usually buy a couple of indie games every year as well.
@darkfenrir Well, I'm by no means a collector, so I'm certain there are people who own a lot more games than I do! Between the Wii U/Switch, PS4 and a bit of PC here and there, I don't really have the time to play more than 12-15 games a year. It also depends on the platform, the Wii U is on the lower end (around 25), but I own a lot more Wii games for example.
@darkfenrir
Um...
Some of them has been finished.
But some of other games are still not finished yet.
But don't worry.
My responsibility to beat the games until finished after bought it.
@Octane That's true, but then again collectors are... uh, collectors. Their enjoyment came from having them too XD And same... I think my amount of finishing game isn't as much as yours, but kinda... have a hard time finishing longer games on my laptop for now, even if I should! o+<
@Anti-Matter (o-o) well yea... can just say good luck with those amount then god knows I can't finish even half of those in a year
Well, let's see... 3DS is pretty much at the end of its life cycle so I guess I'll count those. 32 physical and 34 digital retail games, 70 eShop exclusives, 11 DSiWare games (I didn't have a DSi so I count them as well) and 62 virtual console games. In other words, quite a lot.
EDIT: I guess I should add that 3DS is the console I have most games for. In comparison, I have 72 DS games but I've bought half of them after I got a 3DS. And I have 30 retail games for Wii U so that's a bit more reasonable amount.
Man, it‘s been YEARS since I went and counted all of my games. Years before I began buying digital games or got a gaming PC. Even then the number reached into the 400s. You know, I may go, count them next week and give an answer then.

@darkfenrir I think I have. Let's see... (goes through all of the games again) I've beaten 101/209 games so just under a half. Then again, some of these games are not something you can necessarily beat like Animal Crossing, Tomodachi Life and Tetris. I noticed that I counted some apps as well like Nintendo Badge Arcade, Petit Computer, Colors! 3D and Rytmik Ultimate. So with that in mind, I think I can say I've beaten half of the beatable games. At least I've tried most of them and some games I've played for 30+ hours but haven't finished like Shin Megami Tensei IV.
Nintendo Handhelds (Color, Advance, DS, Switch): 30+
Nintendo Consoles (SNES, Wii): 20+
PlayStation Handhelds (PSP, PSVita): 150+
PlayStation Consoles (PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4/VR): 250+
I'm a sucker for digital sales. Games that I would've had no interest in owning physical pre-current gen, I'll end up getting anyways once they become dirt cheap.
I genuinely think my Vita is going outlive me.

I do agree that those digital sales are truly droolworthy though! A few times I'm tempted to spend for them, but luckily, a lot of times they didn't hit what I want, or the amount of discount I want it to have
Good luck on finishing them though... I feel like you might need it XD
@darkfenrir Thanks!
My backlog in general isn't too bad. 30-35 PS4/VR games & 2 Switch games.
The problem lies with the 100+ left on vita. The majority are time consuming JRPGs and the only time my vita sees playtime is during my commute to/from work or sometimes at work.

Just "retail" releases:
Wii U: 21
3DS: 16
Wii: 33
DS: 21
GB/GBC: 16
SNES: Not sure, I got a LOT of ex-rental SNES games very cheaply
PC: I have no desire to figure out how many I have
It's hard to say exactly because I'm quite in to 'retro' gaming and still add to my collections for my older systems to this day - but, if I had to guess, I'd say that I usually end up getting roughly 20-30 physical games during each consoles' lifecycle - with a healthy sprinkling of digital/indie games on top
Growing up, I'd be lucky to get 3 games in a year, which I guess kind of conditioned me to be the type of gamer who prefers to play games to death as fresh experiences would be so few and far between! ..and that's kind of stayed with me for life - I still prefer to have a few games that I play often rather than always treating myself to something new - it's all I knew, so it's just what I do!
