Yep. That's what so frustrating. I don't care about buying this for PS4, but it's not problem solved. I will miss the Game Pad a LOT.
So it's a real dilemma for me. Nintendo should have made sure the game is coming to the Wii U for the good of the game really... You make that controller and then new games don't use it. It's just stupid.

Can't convince third parties to take advantage of a product that its creator hasn't really taken advantage of either. There is a lot of stuff Nintendo has done regarding Wii U that is just disappointing. It's the complete opposite of the 3DS. That system is awesome. Wii U? I'll probably get one eventually but right now it's there with Virtual Boy as the only Nintendo systems I don't own. Not saying it's as bad as VB, of course, but the situation isn't great right now. Good news there's some good games on the way and I'm sure Nintendo has something lined up for E3, it can't be oblivious to what's facing the Wii U right now.

The thing is its not so much Nintendo but the third party companies. All Nintendo can do is ask these companies like Rocksteady like EA, like Square to bring games to the Wii U in the end it's the companies that have the final say.

Alot of people forget that these companies in in business to make money. I am sure that to make a version for the Wii U it will cost more money for them since they have to build a structure for the gamepad use, money that they would want to see come back in sales of the game. Now let's look at how many Wii U's have been sold vs PS4's that have been sold. The company can probably justify to its board members the cost and return of a PS4 version but might not be able to a Wii U version. In the end that's all it takes for a game not coming to the Wii U.

They didn't even show any gameplay.

What about the 200,000 that bought Arkham City: AE though?
It's not profitable. 200,000 were super excited about the game pad functions, and then it becomes non profitable, not worth it...

Nintendo did make use of the Game Pad @Gamer83. It made specific games that used the Game Pad very well. Like Lego City Undercover. The thing is most good uses come from games like Batman or Zombi U or Mass Effect - adventure action games, that Nintendo is not really making. The Game Pad is not intended to be used with a platformer but with an open world adventure. So there was this big expectation from third parties. It's like the Wii Remote and shooters - it works really well, and Nintendo does not make these games. So again the Wii Remote needed third party support and so does the Game Pad. In both cases, the releases are too few. Nintendo should publish the games like they did with Lego City Undercover, give some of the funding, like Bayonnetta 2. Can't they do that more.

Signing up outside developers is an option too. But you're going to be able to do that with developers who have franchises, like the Arkham games, that have proven massively popular on other platforms.

The fact is that if Nintendo console owners wanted to play these games, they would not be Nintendo console owners (or solely Nintendo console owners). These games don't sell well because most Nintendo console owners expect a higher level of quality than most Third Party publishers create these days, and will flee from inferior product. Just look at the fact that most of the major third parties started on Nintendo consoles, and that even inferior Nintendo games don't sell well. Third Party Publishers don't know how to respond to that pressure when they can just push anything out to the "hardcore" crowd on Xbox and Playstation and it will be bought.

Nintendo owners expect a Nintendo level of quality in their purchases (again, even from Nintendo themselves). So far, I have seen little from Third Party Publishers that meets that criteria. Instead we get inferior ports or half-hearted attempts.

The part that makes me sad/mad about this is that Batman: Arkham Origins and the shenanigans they pulled with the Wii U edition cost them a sale (and probably others), which in turn has become a justification for the real developer of the series to not bring the game to the console.

I sat down and watched the trailer and I can't wait for this one. I am glad that this is a PS4/Xbox One exclusive rather then the PS3 and Xbox 360. I am sure this will move some PS4s and Xbox Ones.

Meh, not suprised that a Wii U version won't come. Even if it was released, it'll be a watered-down port like Arkham City and Origins.

I wish they had more to show than just cinematics, but whatever, at least it seems we might get to use the Batmobile this time around (also the batmobile seems to get bigger with every iteration...).

Wait wait wait I missed something is this game after Arkham City or Origins? Cause the fact that I didn't see Joker in any part of the trailer I took it as taking place after Arkham City.

You might be glad to know that Rocksteady (makers of Asylum and City) is returning to make this one, and not the developers of Origins. Not sure about the voice actors of the originals returning though.

@Tasuki
You're right, it's after Arkham City. 1 year after, I believe.
