@lordblackenhand No, it was a battle spot special format battle. Special battles this season are 6v6 singles with no items allowed. I basically looked for Pokemon that would work without an item. Carracosta and Crustle have sturdy, so it's like they have focus sashes in a way.

Either pokemon, male or female, can pass egg moves now as of X/Y. But yes, the ability comes from the mother. Or the father if bread with a ditto.

I use nearly the same setup on my Sigilyph --> Stored Power / Psycho Shift / Cosmic Power / Roost
I'm in the process of working up Clefable. My platinum just unlocked (one Xfer per 24 hours).
Was gonna do two movesets on it.
1) Toxic / Stored Power / Soft Boiled / Cosmic Power
2) Moonblast / Flamethrower / Soft Boiled / Cosmic Power
I'm excited. Fairy makes Clefable more than viable.
On a side note, have you tried Crawdaunt on your rain or Trick Room teams? Just curious. Apparently he's quite a beast with Adaptability and Knock-off

Yeah, I thought of that too. Other things I've considered for Rain teams... specifically the Politoed / Ludicolo doubles team... Goodra with Sap Sipper when grass attacks are suspected, and Manetric with Lightning rod / THUNDER when Electric attacks are imminent. Also consider Wash Rotom (I use him on my team now).
