@Blassie098 Congrats on the Gulpin! Sounds like it was a random encounter shiny which is a lot rarer than a pokeradar shiny. When you do catch the shiny the music will keep playing. In your case you said you set the radar and shiny Gulpin was the first Pokemon you saw. Your chain after that catch comtinued for the Gulpin hunt. All the star grass means is that there's a 100% chance there's a shiny there. Throughout the chaining it is still possible, yet very rare, to encounter a shiny along the way in non star grass. I have yet to test out continuing to reset the radar after catching a shiny to see if the 1/200 chance continues as long as I have 40 encounters, I will on my next radar shiny. Sorry to hear about the Abra hunt, but it sounds like you are getting the hang if it, so I have all the confidence in the world that you will get it soon.
