@Leftwingzero, Do you remember in Red & Blue with the link cable? Same idea, but very hard to time correctly for X/Y. A better, but very specific method, does exist as well...not sure if they patched it though ((you literally have to swap sd cards out, rename files, etc.,) can be done on 1.1).
Aside from that, great; I'm usually playing at all hours, so I should be able to see you at some point.
