If I raise a EV trained pokemon to level 50, in the Wifi battle will it's stats be updated to use it's EV for maximum potential?

I'm not sure I entirely understand the question, but I'll give it a shot:

Stat calculation isn't affected by when EVs are obtained, or whether the Pokémon grows more, or is auto-levelled down. Once they're applied (in Gen IV it used to be each time the Pokémon levelled up, not sure if that's changed), they have an effect on stats regardless of level. The net effect scales according to the Pokémon's level - at Lv100, a Pokémon with 252 EVs in Attack will have 63 extra points in Attack (252 / 4). This is regardless of whether the EVs were gained at Lv1 or Lv99.

If the Pokémon were set to Lv50 - through auto-level, or through hacking the game data or whatever - it would still have 252 EVs applied to its Attack stat. At Lv50 this would equate to about half the added points (I don't know if it's linear scaling, but let's go with that), so about 31 or 32 extra points in Attack.

Even if the Pokémon was somehow dropped to Lv1, those 252 EVs would have an effect on the stat; probably only 1 point of difference or no visible difference, given 63 / 100 = 0.6; but the EVs would still be there.

It's easiest to think of the EVs as being separate from the Pokémon's level and applied after. The same rules apply for IVs too.

Hope that clears things up.

Summary version: Whether you EV trained your Pokémon at Lv1 and then levelled it to Lv50, or EV trained it at Lv60 and then auto-level down to Lv50 in wi-fi, it makes no difference to the effect of the EVs on your stats. They apply in either case.

Just to be certain that your EVs have applied fully, I'd recommend levelling up once via battling - ie not Rare Candy - at the end of EV training. Not certain this is actually necessary any more in Gen V (it was in Gen IV, and thus you could not EV train a Lv100 Pokémon as there was no way to level it up and apply the EVs), but better to be safe, I guess?

I like the suggestion, I'll put it to vote. Five votes (not including mine) and I'll push that through.

Edit: If this goes through, to prevent team scoping (ie, using the first battle's Team Preview to know what your opponent has and then creating a counter-team with other 'mon from your PC in the second battle), the 6 Pokémon you take online with you must be used through all matches with that opponent. Otherwise people will be able to secure victory by simply having a larger pool of 'mon to pick from.
Similarly, if your opponent is only able to take 3, 4 or 5 Pokémon online with them, you must do the same. Put your 3 / 4 / 5 Pokémon in your team or battle box before heading online.
