In the first, I was playing with the metal pieces that were hard to tell from my opponent's pieces, and I got creamed. After that, I switched to marble pieces and replayed the same guy. That time, we had a draw by threefold repetition, which although I didn't plan it (I was just checking him with my queen however I could), I'm glad with the result, as although I still had the only queen (+ pawns), he had a rook and a bishop (+ pawns), there was no easy way through his remaining defenses, and he was close to a pawn promotion that I would've had trouble stopping.
