because most mods just don't fit to the game. i don't want to have some weird magic stuff or some sort of money-system. it ruins the game for me.
only mods i am okay with are things that protect from griefers etc.
I only play with mods as I got bored of Vanilla MC years ago, you can reach end-game in 1 day of playing, whereas mods make it so you can play for weeks without owning every item, and the automated mining makes creating actual factories possible etc. I just like all the logistics of it.
I'd definitely be up for a MC server. It's been ages since I played Minecraft, (Besides the random times when I pop in every so often just to check a few things) but having a new, small server to play on would be cool. Personally, I'd be fine with a totally vanilla server with a whitelist, as long as nobody takes the server to seriously and doesn't mind if every now and then some griefing happens. (In which case the griefer would be banned, and we would just have to rebuild) Of course, I'd be perfectly fine with a server end mod that prevents that kind of thing.

I'm with you on that. I only play mod-free servers. If you want a decent number of people to actually play, you cant add your own mod requirements to the server.
Why bother having a big server without some mods to make managing and using it better for both the administrators and the users.
Because:
Having more players doesn't add much hassle at all when managing a server, and even if it did, isn't it supposed to be a Nintendolife server, as in as inclusive as possible?
As soon as you're adding mods you're making a choice for everyone, based on your own mod preferences - at the very least have votes and only implement mods that are popular choices.
This server isn't going to be getting many players judging by how successful this was in the past. You add mods and you're going to further reduce that number.
Adding mods doesn't necessarily make using it better for the users, because some of them simply might not enjoy or want the mods in the first place.
Not worth arguing about though. If you would rather host a modded server then by all means, go ahead.
Mostly anti-griefing stuff, along with some chat upgrades.
EDIT: Installed grief protector, which lets players claim land, it's fairly automated and you just use a golden shovel to move your claim markers, you gain additional land for your playtime, or I can grant you more if I feel you need it. Everything inside your claimed land is protected against other players. You can use a command to trust another player, which will allow them to modify blocks in your claimed area.
Well I am looking for people to play on my server which is completely mod free, Jenraux lives in UK and I live in US eastern time zone so it was difficult to play. If anybody would like to join me on my adventure please, talk to me. Currently, I am harvesting wood/rails from a mineshaft I found two days ago :3
