My DS games cant go online and it was all right before, but I really want to go online with my games now but our online is too secure. But it does work for the wii, so I was wondering if you can help me set up my wi-fi on my DS Cards

unfortunately, the only way you can get online with DS cards is if your wi-fi uses WEP encryption. the Wii and DSi both support WPA, which would explain why you can connect with the Wii and not your DS, though (and note that DS games played on a DSi still require a WEP connection to get on the internet, even though the DSi can access the DSi Shop and use the Browser without it). you'll have to set up a WEP connection for your network (or ask your parents to do so if they're the ones managing it) to allow you to play DS games online again.

@TBD Wow that's a major flaw...

I've had the same problem with Proffesor Layton, I can't download any of the new puzzles... so Lites and Phats are still recommended for DS gaming online.

Hopefully Ninty fix that too with 3DS...

Why are Lites and Phats recommended but the DSi isn't? you can still use the DSi to play DS games online, it's just that you need a WEP connection still.

I have a WPA connection but my Lite can do online gaming just fine, use my DSi for online gaming, and nothing... its also the same with wi-fi hotspots, my DSi won't work, but the Lite works just fine.

I don't fully understand HOW that works, so yeah...

Also... why don't the DS games go through the DSi's own Internet connection rather than having to make one on the actual card? Also, most people are moving on to WPA connections, and I don't think everyone knows how to make a WEP connection...

Another flaw Ninty has to fix... jeez...

ymmv, man... I've never had a problem getting my DSi to play DS games via wi-fi so long as I had a WEP connection up and running on my router. as long as you've got it set up properly, you're good to go. i do agree it's a hassle, but no more hassle than getting everything going on a Lite was.

Well at least with the Lite you didn't have to set up a whole new connection...

I do find it annoying though that Nintendo didn't let the cards also use the DSi's inbuilt internet settings... well, at least the new DS games anyways.
