@Bolt_Strike: Can we not have this argument again? You think 3D World doesn't do anything new or interesting while you haven't played it. Lots of people who have played the game disagree with you.

That doesn't necessarily make them right.
It doesn't make you right. Lets not have this conversation again.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Super Mario Xross World
F-Zero CX
Fire Emblem: 7 Seas Tales
Hell on Wheels
Kinetix
Daisy's Quest of Awesome
Accsys
Frentaro: City of Nowhere
-Eh, expand
-Don't really care for F-Zero so I don't know what to think of that
-Nope
-Seems like it wouldn't work
-I honestly read Kinect until I took a second look, rename it to 'Wii Fit NX' so the people who would buy those games (soccer moms for instance) know what it is.
-No, sounds like one of those really crappy movie based games
-Sounds interesting but I couldn't see Takahashi (head of Monolith) working on that, like ever.
-I'd probably buy it, but just because it has a 'big' budget doesn't mean it'll be good by any means coughDestinycough
I would like this, Nintendo is definitely lacking in big budget, exploration oriented games lately.
Xenoblade X?? Sure the budget probably wasn't 100 million but so what?
Xenoblade Chronicles and Zelda U are the only exceptions, and neither of them are even out yet. The lack of a Mario collectathon and Metroid Prime hurts.

ok, I thought you had completely forgotten about XCX/Zelda U, but we don't really know much about Zelda yet so it escaped my mind.
If I wanted to see NX(I think its a normal console not a hybrid or portable) first party line up I think
-If it is not backwards compatible the I could see splatoon, SSB, new zelda game, Xenoblade X and SMT X FE being ported.
-A new 3d mario
-Animal crossing HD version that would work with a portable version
-Pokken i think will be ported from arcades
While I dont think they are launch games but I can see them coming first or second year after system launch
a 3d metroid
A new pokemon console game made by Genius Sonority
Retro new IP
F-Zero
Punch-out
Fire emblem
Playing: Wargroove on Switch and Fire Emblem on GBA
Wow you're extremely creative when it comes to games. Why won't you try to develop your own for the Wii U eShop or something? I'll bet we'll get an amazing game
An extra thought. Would the new console still play Wii games if it were backwards compatible with Wii U?
Is the Wii U backwards compatible with the Gamecube? Is the PS3 backwards compatible with the PS1? Backwards compatibility usually only goes back one generation, so any Wii game we get will likely be a VC game.
Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...

Yes to both. The Wii U needs a homebrew tweak to play Gamecube games from an external drive (please don't do this unless you own a legal copy), but yes, it runs Gamecube software natively.
And all PS3 models are BC with PS1 discs.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

The Wii U is missing hardware in order to read the smaller GameCube discs. I don't see why their next console wouldn't be backwards compatible with the Wii.

Why? If you want to play Wii U games, get a Wii U.
If you already have a ps4 and you want to pick up the NX are you really going to shell out 300 dollars to buy a wii U? im saying this is smart for nintendo to do to attract people that didnt buy a wii U, sony did this with the last of us
It also give people more of a reason to trade in their wii U for the NX if the NX is not backwards compatible

All the more reason to make sure the next system is backwards compatible. I'd rather see new games than more ports. A port of games like Splatoon or SSB would probably hurt the impact of their new iterations (assuming we'll get a Splatoon 2).
