Mystical Ninja/Goemon for Konami?

I always go back to the fact that there are only 2 characters in the entire roster that weren’t developed in Japan- being Diddy Kong and King K Rool, and seeing they’re Nintendo characters I don’t think they count. If we were going to get western characters they would have been playable on the Wii U and 3DS. To me it seems everything Nintendo does is to appeal to a Japanese market and if the rest of the world likes it cool.

It’s just a theory but starting off with Joker does give it a chance.

The first DLC character is already confirmed.

Never expected Joker to be in; was expecting an Atlus rep, but more of a traditional SMT character like the Demifiend, Flynn or the new protag of SMT V.

All bets are off now. Everybody can join in. If I had to choose...

1) Leon S. Kennedy (Resi 4 outfit, alt his RPD costume)
2) Terra (Final Fantasy VI)
3) Mona/Ashley from Warioware
4) Chorus Kids (Rhythm Heaven as the out there choice)

@MrGawain Goemon is super obscure in the west though. Like ridiculously so. And there are three characters developed in the west, Dark Samus was made by Retro Studios.

Super stoked about the inclusion of Joker - can’t wait to see how they include personas/other characters as moves/spirits & such!

Really does feel as though it could be anyone now but just random guesstimates based on the ‘1 per company’ suggested above;

1.) Ezio Auditore
2.) Dante (DMC)
3.) Noctis (would prefer Squall, Zidane, Balthier or heck, even Ligtning!)
4.) TMNT (wildcard guess)

Regardless, will be fun finding out!

@BrainOfGrimlock But then the TMNT will be a guest character in two modern fighting games that don’t feature themselves (Injustice and Ultimate). That would be very weird to say the least.

@Shizuephan Rex is basically the only character who's deconfirmed. Why would they give a Rex Mii costume as part of the pass if he's included? Mythra as a standalone or Pyra/Mythra as one character I'm thinking is the most likely XC2 rep at this point.

With Rex being snubbed for DLC and Joker being the first DLC, I’m pretty sure the DLC will be all third party.
My updated predictions:
1. Rayman
2. Banjo-Kazooie
3. Silver the Hedgehog
4. Phoenix Wright

@Shizuephan I think you misunderstood my statement. Him having a Mii Costume doesn't rule him out. His mii costume being part of the DLC Fighter Pass is what rules him out. You aren't going to offer a special bonus costume for one of the characters in the pass.

1. Dan Fortesque, especially now with the Medievil remake coming out next year.

2. Darth Revan from Knights of the Old Republic. Unlikely to happen now that white slavers own Star Wars, but it would be cool to have Revan in his armor.

3. Doom guy. I don't need to motivate this.

4. Chell from Portal. Needs more unique fighters and what is more unique than using a teleportation device?

5. Agent 47 from Hitman. The game needs more characters with guns.

@Agriculture I hate that Disney has the Star Wars brand, but I wouldn’t call them “white slavers”.

I would love for these additions:

1. Rayman
2. Banjo-Kazooie
3. Bill Rizer (Contra Series)
4. Billy (or Bimmy - Double Dragon)
5. Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden)

Well, seeing as Isaac is sadly eliminated from having any chance by being an AT, and Sakurai has confirmed that they're going to be franchises new to the series, these are my personal most-wanted:

1. Sora
2. Amaterasu (Okami)
3. Phoenix Wright

#3 is probably the most likely here, but I really can't say I know anything. I think Amaterasu is sadly a pipe dream seeing as the franchise is a bit of an underdog and you see what Sakurai does with franchises like that unless they're "retro". Sora I hear is owned by Disney, so that is a bit of a longshot as well, even though it seems kind of obvious to add Sora when even Cloud is in this game.

I don't personally have any other wishes beyond that. At least not under the new criteria. I think Joker might have made this list, but I would hate mentioning him since Persona 5 is Sony exclusive. But here we are. lol

Ryo Hazuki - Shenmue series

@Harmonie So Tails is out of the running, huh? Dammit, he would've been perfect!

My picks after Joker's reveal:
2. Dante, Devil May Cry. Smooth-talking and with a distictive, stylish flair to his attacks - it makes me wonder why he wasn't in already.

3. Some rep from the Xbox camp. Probably Banjo-Kazooie due to Rare's heritage - though I wouldn't count the Master Chief (Halo) or Joanna Dark (Perfect Dark) out just yet.

4. A Dragon Quest rep. Not only was this leaked, it's the only one that makes sense for Square. FF is accounted for, and Kingdom Hearts characters are owned by Di$ney - who'll probably keep Nintendo at a wide berth because of the Universal deal.

5. Tails, Sonic the Hedgehog. Chance he makes it in? Close to zero. Chance I'm gonna stop waiting for his inclusion? ALSO close to zero. Let me dream, dammit - let me dream.
