This is a really cool game that I've been following since it was announced ages ago. It's basically some type of hipster Earthbound, but with timed attacks and cool stuff like that, blah blah blah, things Nintendo fans would like.
The real interesting thing is who made this game. So these guys, Ackk Studios, you might remember from an old kickstarter game called Two Brothers. It was a game influenced by Gameboy RPGs and Zelda, lots of cool stuff with black and white games. It was Kickstarted BEFORE the Wii U's release, but the release on PC was so poor (by what I've read) and everything involving trying to fix it has been such a disaster that it's never been released on console in any form. And in the meanwhile, they were working on this game as well.
Point being, this has taken a long, long time to come out. They've spent 6+ years trying to get ANYTHING on a console. I think every year I saw them at PAX, it was supposed to come out that year and didn't. But finally they have a release date, it's coming out next month. And based on what I've seen, what I've heard and especially what I've played, you should pay attention to it. I'm confident this is gonna be a really weird, memorable RPG.
At first glance, this did look a bit like a retro FF/Mother series clone. Through closer inspection, however, this seems to be a great game that takes the best parts from the RPG genre.
