So i beat the 2nd lvl with the little guy, but it did take me a few tries.. and actually when i won, all i did was basically stand in place spamming attack while they kept walking into me..
but it sure seems like he takes way too much damage, or maybe im just making it up.
I did however use him and beat the last stage too... but I dont think it really matters who you have the last level, i just realized what the guy said about waiting till you're almost dead to break things looking for food... I got like 3 meats on the boss.
@Inertiacreep Good job! Yeah I discovered the food trick when I tried to break boxes ahead of time so that the food was ready when I needed it but they weren't dropping. Food only seemed to drop when my health is low. So you have to just play into the games dumb mechanics. lol
@MarkTrav82 with Brennus I've beaten him on my second try. He's not much harder than the twins of the second stage imho. If you are able to get to him with rage full or nearly full it is a big help you could try once you get to know the stage a bit. For me, I got to him with all my lives and now I don't remember if I still had the dogs too but anyway I lost two lives but managed to kill him without losing the third one.

Arthal is vulnerable to being hit from behind. In particular, if you do that while he's using his unblockable bull charge attack he'll trip and be stunned. He's also very insistent about calling for reinforcements (to the point of of yelling even when his current wave hasn't perished yet), which can be annoying, but also give more opportunities to attack.
Anyone here try Guinevere? She has the ability to do a quick step in vertical directions with double-taps. Pretty handy.
Alone, a force. Together, a force of nature.

@meleebrawler Probably it is because of his "obsession" about calling reinforcements that I've been able to beat him so early. He really behaved like a dumb idiot in the ending part of the fight I won

@Lroy It's superb I love it. I haven't been able to play it for long either and have yet to get past the first level but from what I've played, it's quite possibly the greatest beat-em-up I've ever played.
@meleebrawler yes, i played her maybe through part of a level but she is awesome... now that ive beat the game once, i want to play through with her next.
@OorWullie nothing is better than River City Ransom but this game is like, all you could ask for... could you imagine if they made like a FICTIONAL more light hearted side scroller with a richer color palette but still just as violent?
@Inertiacreep I prefer this kind of setting but I would have liked even more something similar but fictional with some magic elements here and there like wizards, elves and dragons. Anyway this game is really wonderful. River city ransom is good but I prefer Wulverblade

@OorWullie Wowsers! That IS high praise indeed and from the short time we've conversed on here, I already recognise a kindred spirit in our gaming histories/tastes. I'm struggling to get much Switch time these past couple of weeks (less even than normal as my wife is bloody addicted to Salmon Run mode in Splatoon 2) but relish the chance to get further stuck into Wulverblade. Still on my first-try and think I'm on level 2? Basically, only downloaded the game and beat first big boss character and then had to shut it down.

@Inertiacreep@LuckyLand For me the setting is perfect. I'm Scottish, so being able to fight the English and ward off the Romans is a great feeling. Perfect game to play after watching some Braveheart haha
Yeah I really like it but it's only that usually I prefer at least some fantasy elements in games/movies/comics... but it's just personal taste this game is great and it is also very atmospheric and immersive.
Today I've beaten 4th stage losing only one life. It was just my second attempt at it. I'm really satisfied and it's been very fun.

yea like its so well done i could totally picture this in an arcade cabinet with minor adjustments. and like the last boss difficulty is like you need to keep throwing quarters at it to win.
Not sure what the hell happened to make me forget I even bought this game - so many games to play already on Switch. So played a level a night over the last couple of evenings and wow, this is a fantastic game.
Surely the best side-scrolling beat-em-up on Switch? It's like Sega's GOLDEN AXE and Konami's KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND mixed to make one epic, bloody and brutal brawler.

@OorWullie Yeah, it is super tough but it kind of reminds me of how hard I found KINGHTS OF THE ROUND on the Super Nintendo back in the day. Basically, you have to learn to block or you simply cannot progress through the game.
