You can get Okami from Amazon.jp, no problem, it seems. But I don't think I want to spend the shipping and import fees currently:

Hopefully it will come physically to Europe. I'll wait a while and if it never materialises then I'll just end up getting it on the eshop (probably on sale).

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

Seriously annoyed at how Capcom handled the language option. My Japanese version of the game is half in English unless I change system language and reboot. I hope Taiko isn’t broken like this.

EDIT: aaaaaand it is broken. That’s it. I’m going to bed. Two purchases are now needlessly cumbersome.

what do you mean with "half in English"? Can you be more specific?

@NintendoPete Opening game warning (but not the joycon notice ...) and logo are still in Japanese, game itself follows system language. So to keep the game in Japanese I have to flip the system language. It's rare when devs do this, especially when the Eshop versions are separate builds (which you can usually tell because you can buy the game in both regions rather than counting as purchased in both).

It is a minor annoyance because it breaks the nice flow of my usage of the system (just because I can play games in Japanese doesn't mean I want to play all of my games in Japanese... otherwise I would have set the system language as such from the start lol) but it's not the end of the world. I'm more annoyed that A) can't turn that off (for Taiko no Tatsujin for instance) B) Okami cost more in Japan but I wanted Japanese language, but if they made the NA version do the same thing I wasted about 20000 yen. But on the other hand I have a dual language version of the game on the go. So yeah. Glass half full and all that.

@Ryu_Niiyama I'd guess that the logo and other things are images so they can't be changed as easily as text. Still a disappointment though!

I'll finally be able to play this tonight so I'm very excited! Hopefully I won't be too tired from this 8 hour train journey stuck next to what seems like one of the Mean Girls

@Kimyonaakuma I'm hoping that Capcom with patch it, but Bamco did the same thing with Taiko so I'll just have to flip. Luckily the Switch has a snappy UI so it's not like it is a long wait to reboot it, just annoying. The five minutes of the game that I played look crisp and fantastic, so this is the definitive version of the game for me (so much so that I gave away my PS4 copy... I'll keep the others for sake of collecting). The Switch is really a fantastic system for adult gamers. So convenient (which is likely why this whole thing annoyed me so much because in general the switch just...works) and versatile. I keep trying to go back to my other systems (my poor 3ds and vita) and at this point short of Spiderman next month everything else I own is a paperweight. I have never been this enamored with a system (not just the games, but the actual hardware) before.

Hopefully you have some headphones and good music to get you through the train ride.

Eel

Nintendo's first party titles follow the pattern of game language = system language.

Yes it's annoying.

@Ryu_Niiyama They might not patch it but who knows? I think Digital Foundry mentioned some frame rate or frame pacing issues so maybe they could do one post-launch update to iron out these problems. I'll be buying the European version so I shouldn't have any issues, even though I don't have a sensible reason to buy this except that it's Okami It won't look better than my PS3 version and I'll be using the Pro Controller so I won't be seeing a big improvement anywhere.

Thanks, I hope I survive with 42% on my phone and no way to charge it. But it's that or listening to this person threaten to dump her boyfriend because he doesn't tag her in Facebook pictures. Serious issues...

I managed to survive the worst train ride ever! Despite having to listen to someone's made up life problems and dealing with some creepy old man....

Anyway I bought Okami HD, and I still love it as much as my first time on the Wii - and it still looks great The beginning feels quite long though, I just want to leave Kamiki Village!

RR529

Bought this yesterday and am hooked! First played it on PS2 over a decade ago but dropped it after reaching Hokkaido for some reason I can't remember... Hopefully I finish it this time.

Anyhow, what's the best way to allocate your upgrades? I upgraded my health the first time the game brought it up, but since then haven't upgraded anything and have built up over 250 points.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

@RR529 I think it's best to focus on ink first then health. Although if you have time, increasing your wallet capacity isn't bad idea as well.

Bought it for £7.99 on the eShop. It’s a damn big game too.

Currently playing:
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Persona 4 Golden
Dragon Quest XI S
F1 23
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty

@Slowdive They're optional, I'm not a fan of using the touchscreen and didn't have any issues
