I own a Wii U, and I've just gotten into Lego Dimensions, and until they make it possible to move my save data, VC games, and retail disc-based games onto the Switch, I think I'll hold off on it...

Wow, man - the Switch is going to be awesome for you. You'll get to play Mario Kart, Splatoon, most likely Smash, and maybe a few other Wii U top-sellers. Definitely games that everyone should play.
And yea, way more didn't own a Wii U than did, so Nintendo's doing the right thing with these re-releases, no questions asked.
@rallydefault, thanks, yeah a lot of people will be disappointed if Nintendo put effort into ports of recent titles rather than new games. But I'm sure they can do both. It hasn't harmed Switch establishing itself a new identity so far.
I originally owned the wii u( of the games it had, those games were great). Sadly I sold the wii u shortly after the 2015 E3 with all the writing on the wall.. Giving Nintendo another chance like I said I would. Am now a switch owner and one with strong hope for the switch)
I had both. I actually got both launch day. I don't see how seeing who DIDN'T have a Wii U will predict success. Ideally it should be getting everybody.
