@BruceCM I already bought it a while back. Was just considering a backlog game. Maybe ill just do phantasy star in short spurts then.

Ah, well, can't say about Phantasy star games, @NintendoByNature.... Guess you'll have to give DQ a try sometime, then

@BruceCM
Just finished Chapter 4 of Ys. All I can say is - finally! I'm enjoying my time till now, but I get the feeling I'm like... past the middle. Should I start thinking of what I should play next?

Dusk

BruceCM

Well, if you're rather over-levelled, you might get through the rest more quickly, @Dusk .... Be aware that you need to do most of the village quests, though, to get the 'true ending', so don't skip those

@BruceCM
Yeah, I read something about that part. is just keeping up with the quests on the board and gifting the stuff from the trader enough? is there anything specific to do to unlock it? X:

Dusk

BruceCM

Just to do as many of the quests as possible, @Dusk .... I'm sure there's somewhere that'd tell you how many you actually NEED but they're generally good, anyway

@NintendoByNature I hear Phantasy Star IV is quite hard. I have it on the Sega collection too so I’d be interested in how you get on with it.

I did give Shining Force on the collection a very brief try but I died on the battle tutorial and put it down again. I want to try properly some day.

@JoeDiddley yea ive been wishy washy if I should start that or something else as my 2nd game. I did pop assassin's creed rogue into the system but I haven't fired it up yet 😋

@NintendoByNature I understand the indecision, it’s then all the more satisfying when something clicks and you get drawn into it.

@JoeDiddley lol I'm very indecisive. I have fumbled between PS4 (phantasy), DQ1, AC rogue Ys VIII or FFX . Or nothing until xenoblade. Lot of decisions.

Then I keep my Wii u backlog into consideration too lol.

@NintendoByNature I think I’ll similarly be treading water between when I beat Bravely Default and when Xenoblade Chronicles arrives. I don’t want to be in the middle of a big RPG when it comes out.

I might chip away at a half finished game, maybe: Ni No Kuni, Disgaea 5, The Walking Dead or Persona Q2.

I’ll have a week off work so it’s bad timing to just tread water. If only Xenoblade was out a week earlier!

By half finished Disgaea 5, @JoeDiddley .... Do you mean you've beaten the main story boss? If you do intend to actually play the rest of the game, that takes at least 5 times as long

@BruceCM ha, I almost added a comment to say I if finishing the game is possible!

I’m only half way through the main story but that’s because I fell down the rabbit hole of the dlc stuff and levelling the weapons and got burned out.

The game is one giant rabbit hole. I absolutely loved the time I spent with it until then. I have 1, 2 and 4 untouched too as a result.

As I’m enjoying the FF job system they use in Bravely Default and I love tactics games I am tempted by Final Fantasy Tactics War Of The Lions (one day). Also because I love Akihiko Yoshida’s character designs. I hear it’s quite hard though. Any thoughts or tips?

What, on War of the Lions, @JoeDiddley .... ? It's not, mostly, that difficult! It's more that if you don't know how to prepare for certain battles, which includes knowing which abilities to be spending points on in advance, that's where you're likely to get into trouble
The main advice would probably be to steer clear of the PSP version, with it's infamous slowdown for spells in particular, which hasn't been improved in the digital version available for Vita, so it's actually a lot better on iOS or Android
If you do decide to play it, let me know when you're starting & I'll put in some specific tips for things

@BruceCM the slowdown sounds unfortunate. Had you played the original because I hear it’s much worse for people who have.

It would be a good game to chip away at on mobile, but my battery is pretty wrecked as it is and I just know I wouldn’t play it there.

Unlike FFVI, FFT is a mobile port I hope Square Enix brings to Switch, not sure why they haven’t already really.

Never had a PS console, only the PSPs & Vita, @JoeDiddley .... Still worth getting WotL over original, then! Dunno, it's not even on Steam & they have FFIII-XV there, so that is strange I'd gladly get it again on Switch, along with IV, complete collection, VI, Tactics Advance & A2: Grimoire of the Rift

@BruceCM I was thinking of getting it on Vita and trying to cope with the slowdown as it’s pretty cheap. The added cutscenes and content seem good. If ever I do then I’ll definitely ask for some class and strategy tips.

OK, I'm sure it's still an improvement on the original, at least, @JoeDiddley .... Fortunately, there's some flexibility in jobs, although there's some that really aren't much use Probably also fortunately, to get the most OP jobs requires so much that by the time you can use them, you really shouldn't need to, anyway

Love this thread.
Right now I have on the go...
Warzone (PS4) - I like this alot for free
Doom Eternal (PS4)
Animal Crossings (Switch)
Zelda Breath of the Wild ready to start (Switch)
And the poor old Xbox isn't getting a look in lately....

Clearly AC and Zelda are going to take up alot of time, should I consider anything else at this stage as I really want Mario Kart and Mario Odyssey?

So its been decided. I'm not going to start up ffx (or x-2), not going to start Ys Viii, not going to start any game in the genesis classics collection. And im not going to start assassin's creed rebel collection.

After today's news, I'm going to continue my play through of ff9, And during or shortly before I've finished ff9, I'm jumping back to paper Mario on Wii u(the original).

I only played a couple hours, but got side tracked. Now is as good a time as any to play it all the way thru.
