looking for feedback and advice from people who have already got the season pass... when is the optimum time to get it ?
I am probably half-way through (2 divine beasts completed, complete map found) and I am obviously mostly interested in the second DLC pack with the additional story chapter.
I can't see myself doing hard mode, nor the trials in the short term (couple of hearts away from getting the master sword currently) - I like the sound of the new map function ... if I am going to pay the $20 at some point for it, this year, is it worth getting it now - does it make the current play-through easier ? should I wait until I complete the game before getting it ?

Wait until they announce what you're actually getting.

Best to get it when the second DLC's details get unveiled. If it's interesting for you, go ahead and buy it. The first DLC is minimal in content and I didn't enjoy it, so the second DLC is the one to watch out for as it has a new story.

If you already know that you will be getting it for the second DLC, why not get it now already? The korok mask sure comes in hand (although only when you are actively searching for koroks, as otherwise it is more of a burden imo), but do not forget about the travel medallion, that is a feature I use all the time. For example when you want to investigate something, or get to a korok seed, but you are in a hard to reach place. Just place the travel medallion and go investigate, when you are hunting for dragon horns, just place it on a convenient place and you can get multiple horns more easily (it is limited to one each day). And there are other ways to use it as well

But in the end, those are only small benefits (though nice), so if you are unsure about whether you will eventually buy the DLC you could still wait to see if it is worth it. However I bought the DLC when I bought Zelda as I was already quite certain I would buy it anyway.

Also, you are probably half-way storywise. But not half-way 100% completion (all shrines, korok seeds, side quests and w/e floats your boat for 100% completion like chests)

I disagree with some of the other posters. The Trials you get with DLC1 can be really valuable in powering up your sword for the last portion of the game (I would try the Trials with maybe 1 beast to go, or even right before you venture into Hyrule Castle).

And as you mentioned, the map tracking addition is AWESOME, especially if you are trying to find all the seeds, shrines, etc. And the previous poster mentioned the Korok mask and the medallion, both of which just smooth things out and make collection less tedious.

Hard Mode, yea, it's kind of just a novelty. I started it and I'm off the Great Plateau, but with such a huge game I just think I'll stick to maxing out my original save.
