@Bass_X0 The official Pro is the best controller I have ever used. But if you can't wait and get that, I would point you to 8Bitdo's pro controller. It is about 20 bucks cheaper, but lacks Amiibo support and is styled like a SNES controller.

I own the 8bitdo Bluetooth controller which I bought from amazon. I think it’s great and a little different. I personally think the pro controller is far too expensive - something I hope nintendo address soon
i have the Legend of Zelda pro controller only because when i whent and brought it it was only £23 and i had a £25 gift card and i had nothing to use it on but i prefer using the pro controller over the one you get with the Switch using the Joy cons but the pro controller is good to have especially if you play the Switch a lot docked like i do
Don't see why the Pro is considered expensive - it's only a bit more than the DS4 or whatever, but it has a MUCH better battery, which alone is worth the price of admission, not to mention HD rumble and NFC.
You can get the 8bitdo SF-30 Pro for £29.99 just now off Amazon. A tenner cheaper than the normal price. I've ordered one myself and it will arrive at some point today. Great price.

Because when I buy a PS4 it comes with a DS4. Meanwhile, when I buy a Switch, it does not come with a Pro Controller.
NFC isn't really a selling point, I mean, what can it do besides... scanning amiibo?
About the HD rumble, it's weird. I've had my Switch for a while now, but I have still no idea what HD rumble does. What games use it? Splatoon and Odyssey don't, at least, I haven't noticed any difference.

People say the rumble is just...more.........um.................
...Ok you know what, HD rumble is stupid....rumble in general is stupid. lol

Keep it PG-13-ish.
I would honestly just buy a pro controller. The other ones that are cheaper I just would avoid. The pro controller is wireless (with 40 hours battery life), has HD rumble (which is used to find some moons in Odyssey and helps in other games), has a gyroscope and motion controls (which obviously is used in tons of games) and has an overall quality build and feel to it. This is a good point because with cheaper ones, it will probably break earlier and you will end up spending more money in the long run. The pro controller also has a NFC reader to scan amiibo if you have any. For $70 (or less if you find sales) I'd say it's worth it rather than another controller that misses lots of features.
However if you must, I have heard fairly good things about the 8bito controllers, but again they lack features.
The HD Rumble is brilliant when used right but even just the way it feels in general is totally different from normal Rumble.Splatoon 2's rumble when swimming through the ink is so subtle though, even more so with the Pro controller, it might as well not be there to be honest. Arms I thought used it really good though and was instantly noticeable to me but after a while, you get used to it and you don't really notice it anymore. In Pinball FX3 it's very noticeable, you can really feel the ball rolling around the table. I really like it for Pinball
makes the experience more immersive but I imagine it's not for everyone as it's really strong in that game with no option to turn it down.
If you play a lot of 2D games I really recommend SF30/SN30 Pro by 8bitdo; the SNES pad is definitely one of the best controllers for 2D games ever made. If you plan on playing a lot of 3D games however, I would recommend another controller.
Nintendo’s own Pro Controller is brilliant so it might be worth saving up money for that. Otherwise the Hori and PowerA controllers are supposed to be ok for the cheap price, but I haven’t tried them.
I got my SF-30 Pro yesterday and I absolutely love it. It's so comfortable to hold and the D-pad and buttons feel superb. For retro games I can't recommend it highly enough. However I tried using the analogue sticks on another game and I found it tough. I could probably get used to them but they would never be ideal,so a Pro is definitely still the best way to play modern games. I already knew it would be though, that wasn't why I purchased it.
That 8Bitdo SF-30 looks promising. I have NES30 Pro controller, but left shoulder button broke, so it's useless now Last month I bought PDP Faceoff Pro Controller, it's very basic and wired only, but works fine with MK8 Deluxe as secondary controller and costs ~30€ here in Finland. I Think Xenoblade Controller is the best, but the price is horrible(~75€)
I don't know of name of it, but I got Zelda themed controller for my switch for 24.99. Yeah its out on all joy con features but if want play with a comfortable controller akin to Xbox type one and is amazing. I use it play doom and sometimes xenoblade as well, also my girlfriend and I play nine parchment with it.
I plan get a pair of secondary joy cons too , but you could get three wired controllers for price of joy con set.
I think I'll go with an 8BitDo adapter to use my PS4 and Wii U Pro controllers.
Oh wow, that's a thing? Wish I had known about it, because I really liked the Wii U Pro Controller and don't use motion control at all. Oh well, I have a Switch Pro Controller now.
