What would you like to see in Nintendo's new online membership service? Here are some things I think Nintendo can improve on for the ultimate online experience.

1. Game Account Membership - One singular Nintendo Network ID/Gamertag where all your games are accounted for and can be redownloaded and played on your handheld and home console. Will not lose the digital games you purchased if you break, lose or sell your system, as long as they are downloaded on your Nintendo ID.
2. Achievements/Accomplishments - This is extremely important in my opinion because it shows everything you played along with some unique ways to play the games and gives you motivation to keep playing it to achieve 100% or get that Trophy/Stamp. Who wouldnt be proud of that trophy that says Obtained all 100 stars in Mario Galaxy 3 or obtained every heart piece in The Legend of Zelda NX? You can compare with friends and gives you something to try to accomplish, and bragging rights. Plus it gives you something else to try to talk with and achieve with your friends if its multiplayer. and that brings me to the next one.
3. Dedicated online multiplayer - You know what some of the biggest reasons ps4 and xbox one were purchased? Because your friends all talked about getting that system and playing with each other. And they all decided to get the same system so they can play with their friends. People love playing with their friends and it is addicting and keeps the hardcore gamers playing the system. One of the biggest failures on Wii and Wii U is the inability to play with your friends. Their current online service is horrible, you cant even chat with your friends during a race in Mario Kart 8. Their biggest hit right now Splatoon, you cant even party up with your friends and play with them against another team. You might get lucky to play against them. Nintendo is all about being social and playing together, yet you cant even play with your friends and have a great experience without something getting in your way.
4. Points or rewards like club Nintendo, if you have free games, some cool statues or that exclusive club Nintendo amiibo, people will buy Nintendo products like crazy to get that exclusive prize. Plus who doesnt like to get rewarded for buying games. Nobody else has done it besides Nintendo.

Please post your suggestions I would like to know what else others might like.
thanks!

I agree with all your points! Especially accomplishments, where the harder the task, the more intricate the stamp that you could show off on miiverse posts. People would be able to see what games you've played and what accomplishments you've gotten.

As for the membership service, I want physical rewards, and something similar to Gold/platinum status to reward people who buy lots of Nintendo games each year.

I don't want achievements. I think it takes away a lot from a game's experience.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Personally, I've always seen them as a harmless-if not pointless-bonus. Could you explain why you feel that way?

A) I got really addicted to trying to get all the achievements in the games I enjoyed.

B) I found when I accomplished something and an achievement poped up it felt less important. Rather than me feeling like I actually accomplished something, it felt like I did exactly what I was expected to do. Before achievements when you found a secret it felt magical, it felt like you stumbled on something the developers didn't want everyone to find. Now when you find a secret and that achievement pops, it feels like you did exactly what you should have. And no, turning off notifications doesn't fix the issue because I know there is a list of everything I am supposed to do and I will check it.

This is mainly referring to Xbox 360 achievements. I haven't gotten to addicted to achievements on Steam, but I have had to quit Team Fortress 2 because of them.

Eh, the only thing I see as even remotely beneficial is some sort of messaging system. Just to lessen the dangers of online bullying, some sort of password could be set in place that must be exchanged between people who already added each other to their friends list to use quick messages, but cannot be exchanged via Miiverse. That'd mean only people who already are in contact with each other somehow can send quick messages to each other. Of course it's not perfect (people can exchange info with strangers in forums, as well), but it's something.
Generally, as long as Nintendo doesn't draw inspiration from XBL/PSN/Steam, it has potential to not suck.

The lack of voice chat or online multiplayer has nothing to with the Wii U or its online infrastructure or account system. It has to do with Nintendo being out of touch in online development.

Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F

Nintendo should just improve on their current online system, and that includes robust friend interaction. Voice chat (at least, among friends) should be a staple in every major Nintendo online game.

God first.

Would be nice, but I don't think it will work this gen. Maybe the NX will change this.

2. Nintendo games have usually given me a reason to keep playing without the need for empty or pointless accomplishments. Then again, I suppose some players would love bragging rights.

3. Dedicated online multiplayer - You know what some of the biggest reasons ps4 and xbox one were purchased? Because your friends all talked about getting that system and playing with each other. Would be nice I guess, but I don't really care.

I don't really like the idea of being "rewarded" for buying a game. I buy a game to play the game. Should I be "rewarded" for buying a product...aside from having the product itself

As a few others have stated, I think achievements should be on their list this time around. And they don't have to be "empty" at all!

If Nintendo calls them "coins," which I think would be a nice neutral yet nostalgic name, they can act in much the same way as trophies and achievements, but they should also allow large numbers of coins to be redeemed for things, integrating the system with whatever their Club Nintendo replacement is. Maybe those "things" are just timed "demo"-type snippets of classic Nintendo games (like that Amiibo game or whatever), but at least it would be something.

I remember when I had my 360 that Microsoft actually ran some sort of contest that if you could rack up a certain gamerscore within a certain time limit, you got a free choice of game from the Live Arcade. It was really cool - I got a unique gamertag picture and a free game out of it. Stuff like that would be awesome.

I don't like "achievements." I hope Nintendo doesn't implement an "achievement" system anytime soon.

Nintendo needs to implement better ways of online communication and easier ways to play with friends. Nintendo needs to amp up their power on their next console and make that their priority - not a new attempt at innovation.

Crossbuy and crossplay are a must, Nintendo needs to trim their lineup down to make it less repetitive, it's annoying to have to buy VC games repeatedly as well as have handheld and console versions of the same repetitive games (do we really need two NSMB games per generation?).

And I would like achievements as well. It gives more incentive to accomplish things that I would never want to do otherwise.

No Europe favouritism, all regions should be treated equally!

NA's Club Nintendo was mostly terrible while Europe got lots of awesome physical goods and that continues even now when NA's Club Nintendo is RIP while Europe's Club Nintendo is getting restocks of some really popular items like the A Link Between Worlds soundtrack!

This is a hard one for me. Personally, I hate them, maybe more than you do. They're mindless and often pandering to mundane tasks (i.e: You completed chapter 1!!!1). But I shut them out so I don't care if they're there for other people who love them.

For me, I just want better cross-play options between handhelds and consoles. I'm tired of people being like: "it's not on 3DS? Waaaaaaaaaah, waaaaaaaah!" Buy it once, play it on both, with connected cloud saves so you can just keep playing. Better reward for loyal players. I got some decent stuff on club Nintendo, but they need to ramp it up for loyal customers. I'm thinking Steam-level discounts. Lastly: NO ONLINE SUBSCRIPTION FEES. Nintenod hasn't taken this step yet, but if they do I'll be livid. I'll never support Xbox Live or PSN while they suppor these models. I already pay too much for internet, so lets pay for a service that's half as good as Steam....which is free...yeah, no.

@TeeJay: Yeah that's what I noticed too. People that don't want achievements only have their own personal experiences as reasoning. "Well I didn't like it so Nintendo should never do it". It's a very selfish thing to say. Not to mention they are literally the most harmless features yet require almost no effort to implement, save for the time thinking up challenges for each game. All they would do is enhance the games for those who wish to complete them, and do absolutely nothing for those who don't care for them. Pretty sure it's been observed that games that include such a system perform better.

Achievements would be great...if done right. Nintendo ironically has some of the best non-universal achievement systems in some of their games. Some games come with extra missions and challenges in their levels.
