It's gonna launch with a bad name and bad launch titles. This is the worst yet most realistic thing I expect to happen.

The GC and Wii had terrific launch titles. If anything, the Wii U was an anomaly in that regard.

I forgot one thing in my initial list if it's a home console.

They need to secure the "Skylanders+Just Dance" casual crowd- Right now, there is still a huge market for casual party games and popular kids games. The problem is that these people aren't playing on Wii U. They are playing on Xbox (1 or 360) or Wii. Nintendo has a history securing these markets, ESPECIALLY kids, so losing them is letting go of a critical safety net.

I still think the key component to Nintendo doing well is not spreading their games so thin. There's no reason why half of the 3DS' library couldn't be on the Wii U. And going the other way it's the same story. And that's with the 3DS rather than a piece of portable hardware that's more impressive. If they can make it so that getting code from one to at least run on the other is fairly trivial? You remove a huge part of the problem they have with software.

Probably won't help with the NX at launch whatever it is. But when the one after it comes out? Day 1 they should be able to have a heap of content. Think about it, if the Wii U had even just otherwise-identical HD versions of Kid Icarus, 3D Land, Mario Kart 7, Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion and StarFox 64? And ontop of that freeing up time they were spending working on Mario Kart 8 and 3D World to spend on something else? I think it'd be in a very different position.

-good, clear marketing.
-aggressive price
-good launch line up

So become filled with shovelware and a few good games, no gimmicky controller, and highly advertised? Yeah I'll rather not have a complete piece of crap.

But that's exactly what the Wii U was. The only bad thing about being the reverse of the Wii U's lineup is having a mess of third party games that end up playing too similarly.

This is the only thing I don't want them to reverse from the Wii. But this time, make it a gimmick worth owning like the Wii was.

The Wii U has one of the weakest 1st party lineups I have ever seen from Nintendo. And what's funny is that even that is enough to beat Sony and Microsoft's lineups.
