Topic: What is unique in the Switch?

Yes, I know the portability is, but that really is all. The extra controller stuff seem really pointless. The games are basically what you can already get on the Wii U, but for cheaper (especially Splatoon with the free online).

Why should I get it? I don't know. Nintendo hasn't showed me anything unique that I feel like will make me get it. Zelda? I can get on the Wii U. Mario Kart? I can get a very very similar game on the Wii U. Splatoon 2? I can get a similar and much cheaper game on the Wii U. This is disappointing. There is no reason for me and many other people to buy this system, but there is no reason to stay with the Wii U. For the first time in a long time, I would prefer to get a XBox One or PS4. I know I am not the only one thinking this.

I am really disappointed with Nintendo with this new system and his it handed the Wii U which was still a good system that Nintendo failed to advertise well.

Although portability isn't my thing, I take that as its defining feature over a tethered pseudo-portable system any time. If you think there are not enough games to warrant the purchase, do what I do, just wait until there are enough games.

Doesn't this show how awesome the Wii U is rather than how disappointing the Switch is.

I was sold as soon as they announced Wii U like games on a handheld. I have a bunch of kids in the house that will be getting their own Switch, the idea of local multiplayer (8 Switch on 8 screens) is awesome. I dont think I've been as hyped for anything than I am for the Switch.

Plus the games towards the end of the end (Odyssey, Skyrim, Xenoblade 2, ...) will show the Switch's true superiority over the Wii U.

Why ask if you already know the answer?

Not to mention, I'm pretty sure no one is forcing you to buy a Switch. Just keep playing the WiiU, or something else that you're interested in.

I think you are missing exactly what it is about the ability to take fully fledged games from your TV and play them on the go with very little compromise and do so instantaneously.

That is actually the reason people, especially those who haven't bought a Nintendo system day one Since the Gamecube era, find so appealing. On top of all that a lot are stoked for Zelda and of course a full 3D Mario game - again never done like this on a system that can be portable before.

Quite. There are existing threads for discussing this. To avoid overlapping conversations etc. please use one of those, thanks.
