Topic: What if the NX was a commercially failure?

What if, similar to Nintendo 64 DDD, the NX commercial was a failure? How would you react about it?

A bit surprised, really.

Welp, if that happens, then I have an unpopular opinion.

But I hope the NX isn't a failure. I'd love to see Nintendo get back on top.

"What if this piece of hardware that won't be out in around 2 years that we as of now know nothing about doesn't sell very well"

.............. it depends. We won't know whether or not it was a "failure" for a good couple of years into it. We don't know what their competitors will be like at that point. The landscape could be entirely different. Basically what asking here is the equivalent of going back to 2003 and asking whether or not Nintendo's next console, whatever it is, will fail.

Funny thing is, with the exception of the Virtual Boy, Nintendo hasn't made anything that was a failure. The Gamecube made a lot of profit for Nintendo and so was the Game Boy Line.

Hard to predict how something will do when we don't have a clue what it is besides it's placeholder name. Is a console, handheld, some sort of "fusion thing"? Heck, it's possible it could neither.

Look at things now. Glad it's doing so well.

Probably I would have react the same way fans obsessed with the Dreamcast reacted to the failure of the Dreamcast (except the fact that Switch is so much better than Dreamcast )
