I love collecting. Especially really good games that I want to always remember. I like looking through my old games and manuals that I finished many years ago, just a really nice burst of memories and nostalgia. I'll be really sad when the industry finally goes full digital, I'll probably just go full "retro" at that point with very few exceptions.
Nothing is alive. We are all automatons governed by the laws of the universe.
I started down the physical route, but I'm finding it a bit of a pain, the amount of times I have wanted to play a game and had to wait as I left the cartridge at home is beginning to annoy me now. I was going to buy Mario as a physical release, but I'm now thinking to download it as I'm never going to sell it, so why bother with a physical release?
I also went down the physical route, and with the small size of the cartridges there's no problem to carry lots of them around. When I take the switch out I usually just take all the multiplayer games with me (you never know) and the one or two single player games that I want to continue.
Sure, there are lots of games digitally that I'd love to play, and ocassionally I will download a bunch. But I focus on getting all the physical games that I want to play first. I have 11 physical games (I'm very picky and take my time playing through them, not to mention some of my Switch games are huge: Zelda, Disgaea, Skyrim, Xenoblade, Portal Knights).
There's a bunch of Switch games I still need to get on cartridge (Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Dragon Quest Builders, Bayonetta, The Binding of Isaac, Wolfenstein II) before I download new games from the eShop.
I would guesstimate that 80% of indie games on the Switch were already long available to play on the PlayStation 4, which is why my list is very barebones at present! I actually find the pricing disparity surprisingly large in some cases, which is a shame to see...
It would be good if you could trade your digital games to users on your friends list. That way if you bought something you didn't like, or you didn't play anymore, and your friend had someone that they didn't like, you could do a swap and you'd both get a new game.

You still own them. It's like the Steam library. You can hide games you don't want to look at anymore but you still technically hold the licence to play them.
Stay safe, kids: Make sure to save frequently during multiplayer, and always use a stylus!
@Blathers Seeing them nowhere on my Switch's SD Card and main menu is good enough for me. Good riddance to those NBA Playgrounds games and Flip Wars...
First and foremost I love racing games and my absolute favorite racing game is Aqua Moto Racing Utopia. The water is incredible and I fell in love with the Jet Skis. I play this the most. Other games i bought is Portal Bridge constructor and Rocket League!
I know that digital only buyers like myself are still a minority but we're a significant minority and one that's growing all the time. It's just a matter of time until we're the majority.
There is nothing wrong with doing digital if that is what you want. The problem is that the current SD is up to 400GB and I had a 200GB with a digital download and physical wasn't the problem it was the DLC and updates that eats up the SD space.
It only makes sense if you are a collector or have zero storage space left as resell value can't be the reason considering it cost more to buy in the first place.
It's not collectors but saves space on the SD card when you starting getting DLCs or updates those will take space to save.
The real reason that trend started last year was simply the indies saw a chance to make more profit by offering physical versions to a market they probably overestimated which in turn gave then the opportunity to charge a lot more for the digital version for the sake of having price parity. Except their opportunism/greed hasn't been rewarded it has in fact come back and bit them in the rear as their digital sales fell below expectations
Making a Demo and asking for feedback or making a pre-order and stipulating that it has to reach a peak for a physical release option to be made or the pre-orders gets cancelled and buyers get their money back. This would be meaningful as it will know if the market can bear it.
