I have about 20 games and all are digital except for 4 of them. I always loved physical versions, especially for trade in... but having all games on one SD card is just way more convenient if you can afford the extra storage.

Pitifully predictable, Correctly political

I support the digital gaming scene! I have downloaded Stardew Valley and Aqua Moto Racing Utopia. Both of which is great games! <3

Generally speaking, if it's also readily available physically, then I prefer that format. However, after I got Ultra Street Fighter II on cartridge (which is great, I don't care what anyone else says), I realised that there is something to be said for having games that you play mainly in short bursts in digital format. I have six games in physical format, and 11 digital, not including a handful of demos.

Shovel Knight Treasure Trove
Blaster Master Zero
Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap
Waku Waku 7
Mighty Gunvolt Burst
Golf Story
SteamWorld Dig 2
Axiom Verge
Shantae: Half-Genie Hero
Toki Tori 2+ (preloaded!)
And, as of last night, Bayonetta, which is the first game I could have bought physically, sort of, if you count the fact it comes with a physical version of Bayonetta 2 (which I haven't got).

Now I just need to find time to play them all. I'm still focusing hard on Odyssey (up to 600+ moons), and haven't even really started Xenoblade Chronicles 2...

I generally only buy games digitally that are quick, pick up and play titles, that I might randomly want to play for 20 minutes at a time, etc. if it’s an epic game like BotW or Xenoblade 2 that I know will be spending a lot of time in my Switch, I’ll still get physical.

Digital games I own:

  • Ironcast
  • Mercenaries Saga Chronicles
  • Namco Museum
  • Picross S
  • Rocket League
  • Steamworld Dig 2
  • Uno

Depends for me on whether I get a better deal for physical or digital and also depends on the game. Something like Mario Kart, Xenoblade etc that I’ll spend loads of time on I’ve got digital, easier to switch between them.

My digital list

Xenoblade Chronicles 2
Mario Kart
Aperion Cyberstorm
Minecraft
Rocket league
Mantis burn racing
The escapists 2
Stardew valley
Portal knights
Blossom tales
Bulb boy
Cars 3
Crimson land
De mambo
Death squared
Enter the gungeon
Golf story
Slain
Sparkle unleashed
Tennis in the face
Jack box park pack 1 & 2
Time recoil
Tiny troopers
Violett
Xenoraid

A fair list 😂

Only 1 game for me - Rocket League, and that was because digital was half the price of physical

I’ll also be looking to add Sonic Mania and Disc Jam digitally as well (digital only games)

I was -looking to go all digital, but changed mind and I’m sticking to physical copies

Only two games downloaded on my Switch so far; Mighty Gunvolt Burst and Blaster Master Zero. Soon Bayonetta 1 if I splurge on the physical Bayo 2.

Also, I’m really tempted to get the Psikyo shooters, but I should wait until I have an arcade stick for my Switch.

Digital:
Super Mario Odyssey
Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle
LA Noire
Rogue Trooper
World of Goo
Double Dragon
The Darkside Detective
Resident Evil Revelations 2
Bayonetta
Bayonetta 2

Physical:
FIFA 18
1 2 Switch

Most games I'll buy digital. I only got FIFA 18 as it will probably be replaced by a newer version, 1 2 Switch as the kids wanted it and it's more useful as a cartridge in case they get their own Switch in the future.

Got three of my favourite adventures digitally: Thimbleweed Park, The Count Lucanor, and Toki Tori 2+.

Also Dustoff Heli Rescue II, Plantera DX, and League of Evil.

I also want to pick up more adventures like The Fall Part II Unbound, Oxenfree, Her Majesty's Spiffing, and The Sexy Brutale, and curiosities like Subsurface Circular and 60 Seconds but they'll have to wait until I beat some games I already have. I try to get all my games physical though.

Switch is the first console I've gone fully digital with, and I intend to go fully digital with my games from now on. Nothing like having all your games on the go without a care about bringing/switching cartridges.

At least 2'8".

SwitchForce

Got a few of them but considering how they have misplaced Switch Gamers by selling Digital and then later releasing the same exact in Physical game. This is what I call one real sure fire way to sour Gamers.
eShop:
Snipper<<<<not happy they release SnipperPlus...bought the physical will delete the eshop version
Dragon Fang Z
UnEpic
IandMe
TheComaRecut<<<< not happy they now showing physical release now ordered the Physical version
MoonHunters
NineParchments
KingDom(NewLands)
ThimbleweedPark
TheFlame in the Flood
StardewValley
Shantae: Half-Genie Hero<<<now they have a physical release of this game...not happy
OceanHorn
Yono
OxenFree
RevantSaga
Spelunker
NewFrontierDays
Kamiko
Sonic Mania

Going Digital and then releasing Physical release gives a bad taste.

I download everything digital. Love the convenience. From Zelda, Mario to Stardew Valley. Have around 20 games. I bought a 200 GB sd card and have around half of it full.

Before Switch came along the only digital game I'd even bought was Tetris Zone on the Mac, which was back in 2010 or something. I never thought that I would buy digital games, but now I only have three physical and the other 33 of my games are digital.

@SwitchForce I understand your frustration with that but it goes both ways. As someone who buys nearly every game digitally,it was really frustrating for me last year seeing nearly every indie developer announcing a new game and then saying it would be getting a physical release too launching alongside it or a short while after. This meant the digital price would be hiked up to as much as double the price it would have likely been if it has stayed a digital only title. It was the start of an awful trend that seemed to save come about with the arrival of Switch, in the long run it was not going to be good for anyone, regardless of how one buys out games.I was quite vocal about this at the time and said the indie will need to rethink their strategy or it would come back and bite them. As it turns out, I think that's what's happened, they've seen a huge hit to their profits and are now going the digital release first, physical announcement and release after. Digital sales are the indies bread and butter, so treating digital consumers with contempt so as to pander to a small demographic who want to buy all their games physically, whether it be a big budget 1st party release or a 1 man developed low budget retro inspired game that comes in under 200mb and costs twice as much as it should do.

I know that digital only buyers like myself are still a minority but we're a significant minority and one that's growing all the time. It's just a matter of time until we're the majority. Also, I would bet that those of us who are digital only are a far greater number than those who want to buy their indie games physically.. It's likely only a very niche group that do this, even though this site would make you think otherwise. It only makes sense if you are a collector or have zero storage space left as resell value can't be the reason considering it cost more to buy in the first place. The real reason that trend started last year was simply the indies saw a chance to make more profit by offering physical versions to a market they probably overestimated which in turn gave then the opportunity to charge a lot more for the digital version for the sake of having price parity. Except their opportunism/greed hasn't been rewarded it has in fact come back and bit them in the rear as their digital sales fell below expectations

That's my theory anyway, not very beautifully illustrated.
