It’s a wonder you ever discovered Metroid at all given your apparent interest in video games 😉

@JaxonH It's one of those porny Vita dungeon crawlers, although the Vita version never actually came over, making this the first portable version to be localized. No idea if it's actually good or not. It's coming with HD rumble and touch screen support, and seems to be the definitive version of the game. Obviously niche, although there's a certain (small) segment of Switch owners who are looking forward to it.

The Switch is gradually absorbing the fanservice game market that previously thrived on Sony consoles, with Gun Gun Pixies and Omega Labyrinth Life also coming to the system soon.

Given Smash 3.0 is out today, it sure feels like if there's a Direct soon it's just going to be a Mario Maker 2 specific Direct rather than a general one.

That Smash update video was rad. Surely Persona 3 & 4 Switch-bound too...

You guys had me at blood and semen.

I was hoping for a teaser of the next fighter pack during that Joker / U3.0 video. Looks like Nintendo is saving that for the April Direct? All five fighter packs are scheduled for release before February 2020, less than eight months. Based on that time schedule, fighter pack three should be revealed at E3.

@Tsurii almost the same list as me. Except I am playing satisfactory to death on PC instead of cuphead.

I'm trying to resist purchasing much until Fire Emblem. After that, I'll be getting Pokemon, Animal Crossing, and AI: The Somnium Files (if it reviews well). Probably DQXI S as well. Maybe God Eater 3.

And Persona Q2 on 3DS.

I'd like to go into 2020 with a small-to-non-existent backlog on Switch.

I probably end up buying more games than I list here but here are my picks:

April: Final Fantasy X/X-2, Cuphead, SteamWorld Quest, BoxBoy, Mechstermination Force, maybe Labo VR
May: Nothing planned so far
June: Super Mario Maker 2
July: Fire Emblem: Three Houses

It's its, not it's.

While I am buying each and every last game on the list, I’d say the ones I’m most excited for and will spend the most time with from now til summer are

Darksiders (almost half-ways through the game and loving it)
Final Fantasy X (in progress now, game is just as good as I remember)
Final Fantasy X-2 (gonna give this one another chance after 2nd playthrough of FFX)
Final Fantasy XII (never played more than early game- this is top priority)
Cuphead (feeling a lot of outside pressure to play this)
Mortal Kombat XI (looks extremely high-quality, will be playing tabletop MP at work)
Dragons Dogma (I don’t need to sing this games praises again- it’s obviously a priority)
Assassins Creed 3 (I want to play through a full mainline game- this will be the one)
Resident Evil 4 (To my everlasting shame, I’ve never played this game- if gyro is in, I’m in)
Team Sonic Racing (Sonic Racing Transformed was top shelf so I’m very excited for this follow up)
Crash Racing (not sure where it’ll fall between Sonic Racing and Mario Kart, but I wanna find out)
Mario Maker 2 (it’s Mario Maker.... TWO... what more needs to be said)
God Eater 3 (diehard MH fan, obviously this is on my list)
Fire Emblem Three Houses (one of my most hyped games of the generation)
Dragon Quest Builders 2 (I love DQ, I loved the first Builders, and this looks like DQBuilders x BotW)
Marvel Ultimate Alliance (Team Ninja Marvel-centric Diablo-like beat-em-up with upgrades? Yes please)
Wolfenstein Youngblood (this makes the list because co-op FPS is INSANELY FUN, and it’s Wolf MP)

@Late
Great taste with Final Fantasy X/X-2 (One of the greatest video games ever made and a top pick for anyone who likes great video games), and Fire Emblem Three Houses (FE is sooooo good). And Mario Maker 2, (obviously that one is a must)

@Ralizah
small-to-non-existent backlog

Whew, they’re making that nearly impossible this year. Btw if you do get God Eater, we should hunt online. I’ll be giving it a proper go as a diehard MH fan who’s played God Eater 1/2 before. But I haven’t played much so I’ll probably have to relearn everything.

Thankfully nothing on the switch for me until Mario Maker. We're actually making some progress on the Switch backlog. Ps4 is a whole different story ughhh

JaxonH

Ok, this is gonna be pretty cool to have on a handheld and with local co-op

@IceClimbers
Already imported the physical version of Ace Attorney Trilogy last month. Started a playthrough of the first game but didn’t get too far. More so just wanted the game in case I wanted to play it in the future on a system that’s not 3DS.

Well, well, if it isn’t the Besaid Aurochs! They’re a living, breathing statistical impossibility- I’ve never seen a team this bad. That’s right, in 23 years, they’ve never made it past the first round.

Lol, Final Fantasy X kills me sometimes. I recommend everyone play this game. At least once. It doesn’t even matter what platform you play it on- just play it (although I can now say, it’s great on Switch). This game is so freaking good- anyone with a remote interest in the video game hobby needs to experience it. It’s not about platforms or any of that- it’s just about a fine video game.

edit
Looks like we can add Redout for May (finally- I thought this game would never arrive), and Boxboy for April (demo out now). And FYI Picross S3 coming too.

@NEStalgia

I'll probably be in the middle of Pokemon by 2020 (and, of course, Animal Crossing never ends), but I've been knocking out backlogged games at a good pace, I think. Shouldn't be too difficult so long as I control my spending.

I forgot about Astral Chain. Ugh. I really want to play that, too.

@JaxonH

I still have MH World to play, and I guess Generations Ultimate is on the system, but I wasn't a huge fan of Generations on 3DS, and I've already put 60+ hours into the base version as is. I really, really miss having a good hunting game to play with other people on a portable system, though, so GE3 is extremely tempting for me. The only thing holding me back is that none of the other Vita hunting games I've played have really done it for me (Soul Sacrifice and Freedom Wars; both seem like they should have been interesting, but I just... didn't like them).

If I do get GE3, though, I'll definitely want to do co-op.

@Ralizah
Ya, I didn’t like Freedom Wars or Soul Sacrifice or even Toukiden.

God Eater was the only one ever worth its salt, although it’s not as good as MH. No getting around that. I 100% recommend MH World and MH Generations Ultimate. World is definitely the better game to get you into the series, but once you’re into the series and you know what you’re doing, I actually had more fun with Generations Ultimate (which sounded ludicrous to me hearing others say before actually playing through MHGenUlt myself, but after completing G-Rank I can say without hesitation that I enjoyed that game more than any other in the series). It’s a much better game on Switch than the base game on 3DS. Not only did they add a ton of new content for the Ultimate version on top of a game that already had a ridiculous amount of content, they gave out nearly a dozen starter packs and item packs which makes the early game grind rather trivial, along with 100+ slickaxes for duplicating rare ores and bugs and what have you. And a truckload of QoL improvements not present in Generations 3DS like disabling traps, cut tails showing on maps, transmog, not waiting 2 min to turn in paw pass, buying supply drops, new SP mechanic, clicking R3 to run like in World (was patched in after release to match World control scheme), etc etc. Also, having a full button set in HD on a handheld is... divine is the only word that comes to mind. I think you should maybe try World first though. That’s the perfect game for getting people into the series.

God Eater is pretty fun though, it’s just... different.
