@SuperJoon It works exactly like XBox One and PS4: If you swap physical consoles with each other, she can play on your machine logged in as herself (if you bought it on your account and your account and that machine is your account's Primary), and you can play on her machine if you log in as yourself, and only if you are connected online.

So, yes, you can do what you want to do (on any console brand): But you have to physically swap consoles with each other. Any user can play the games on the machine owned by the Primary, and you can (yes, simultaneously) play your own games if you log in as yourself on any other machine, have a subscription, and are actively connected online (it verifies you have access to the game if you're not on your "primary" machine.

Publishers probably don't like that, but it's a necessary side effect of allowing signing into any machine and allowing all users to play games on your primary. Plus since it involves console/account swapping, not many people can really take advantage of it anyway, so it's not too big a concern for them. I recently discovered MMOs like Elder Scrolls Online on other platforms don't allow you to play expansion packs that way though. They somehow tie them to your MMO account, so even without trying to play simultaneously, no other user on your own console can play it either which is....sketchy since it interferes with advertised platform features.

@NEStalgia Thats good to know. So if she had my console and I had hers, we can both play on the console, but I take it not the same game? So we wouldn't be able to team up in Splatoon or race online in MK?

@SuperJoon Yes, if you swap you should both be able to play under your respective accounts simultaneously and team up in Splatoon and MK. And as ReaderRagfish says, for MK you don't even need to do that, you should be able to do it with your own console, sharing the connection with hers. But for Splatoon you'd need to swap consoles to do it.

I haven't used that configuration on Switch beyond just testing that it works, but I use it regularly on other consoles. Switch started working that way with the 6.0 update. It's kind of an "undocumented feature"....it's a gray area, the companies would prefer you didn't really do it that way, I'm sure, and the console vendors don't acknowledge it exists (except Microsoft that actually advertises it as "Home XBox(TM)" but it just happens to work as a biproduct of how they allow all users on a "primary" machine to launch content.

If you run the same game under your own account on both consoles, it actually detects it and drops the game to suspend mode and puts you on the desktop on the opposite one, letting you resume, and suspending the game on the other unit. But if you do it under another account on your "primary" it won't know it's your copy being played, since it's another account playing a "local copy from the primary."

At least for now. Next generations I fully expect them to try to close that loophole

World of Final Fantasy is out now on Switch eShop!

I really liked this game back on the Vita. It's like Pokémon x Final Fantasy crossover. It seems to be in peak form on the TV- it looks particularly good when docked. Handheld looks solid too- but you can definitely tell the difference when on the TV, like wow, that looks super crisp.

Runs great- no issues. But there is a problem when trying to save videos for some reason- it just hangs and spins where it says SAVING. I found a workaround though. If you just tap in and out of sleep mode, it saves the video when the system screen comes back on. Screenshots are fine, it's just videos that seem to hang when saving for some reason. Aside from that though I haven't really seen any issues, performance or otherwise.

For anyone not excited for Pokémon Let's Go, this is your game right here. This is legit Pokémon genre of game here. You even have prisms that you use to "imprism" mirages with. And each Mirage has a mirage board which is how they level up. Board is similar to the skill trees from Final Fantasy X (which had the most amazing skill trees of any game I've ever played), where as you unlock new passive skills and active skills and traits you move along the board in different routes, and can even eventually change form of your mirage (like evolving).

I just got ChocaChick. And ChocaChick is a little baby Chocobo with half an egg shell on its head. It has some basic skills like Ram. Eventually though it will change form, and change form again into a full grown chocobo that can body slam and all kinds of cool stuff. Each Mirage has different status strengths and weaknesses, and elemental strengths and weaknesses.

There's a system called stacking where you can stack yourself and two other mirages on top of each other like a totem pole. Everything has a size assigned to it- S, M and L (small, medium and large). Large goes on bottom, then medium, then small. And you can freely change form of your characters between their "Jiant" forms (human), and their "Lilikin" forms (chibi). You can even change the girl to Lilikin while keeping the boy in Jiant form. It's a simple button press for each of them. You can pre-assign your stacks for each form separately as well, since they are L size as human and M size as chibi. In a full stack of 3 as humans, they're always on the bottom, as chibi they'll be in the middle.

Fantastic game people. Don't neglect this one.

My only experience with Final Fantasy IX (outside of playing the first hour when it was still new) was a Let's Play I watched a while ago. And based on that, it is probably the best Final Fantasy game of all time.

Also, I wanna point out that despite not watching a lot of tv, what I do watch has had Switch ads. It's still the same as the E3 montage, just with different games. I kinda hope, partially for lulz, that this continues for the next several years, uninterrupted. It'll be 2022 and you'll turn on the tv and hear "GET READY doo doo dododo GET READY" while footage of...Fallout New Vegas and Super Mario Party 3 shows on screen.

The thing I've noticed with Switch ads in the UK is that they're all the same, ever since the launch of the system. Sure, the actual gameplay footage shown will vary, but the style of the advert, and the fairly uninteresting voice-over.

Any advertising is better than no advertising, but I wish they'd stop being so modest with their efforts and start trying to pack a punch from time to time.

@Ralizah Maaaan this commercial still freaks me out! Probably one of the reasons Anti-Matter is not so keen on PlayStation anymore

@Octane
Well, I don't take the Gameboy Micro one too seriously, I mean mice are insatiable, incestuous porn stars, like that cheese had a chance against the GBM, LOL as if....
and also seems like Kirby and finger have quite the "complicated relationship" ???
I mean, what will the children be like ???

@JaxonH Interesting that you think WoFF looks better docked, and, compared to PS4 Pro, I think it shines more handheld.

@kkslider5552000 It's funny, everywhere else on the internet all I hear is FFVII, FFX are the best! (And FFVI from the hipsters. ) I've always said FFIX was the best....and this is the only thread on the whole internet that agrees

@Ralizah OMG that's a horrifying thing I had never seen before and now I have and now I will never unsee it noooooooooo! No wonder Wii won that generation. I mean...what are they....I mean what's the actual.....no...just....I don't want to know.....

@NEStalgia Old video game commercials are weird, man. Although some of Sony's surpass even the general eccentricity associated with 90's TV ads.

What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall of the board room meeting where a bunch of corporate suits somehow decided that it would make sense to advertise their brand new system with nightmare fuel.

@Octane The "touching is good" slogan is particularly funny in light of what was changed in Fire Emblem Fates.

@Ralizah (and everyone else)
over the decades, I have seen some hilarious, some confusing, some strange, some creepy, some disturbing and some just plain gross commercials.........and ya know what ???

of probably the well over 10,000+ commercials worth noting, 90% of them are from oriental business marketing, them some cray cray mo fos when it comes to commercials, and Nissan (food, NOT car) has always had some of the most F¥CK€D UP !!! of them all !!!

@nate2017 Holy walls of text Batman!

In all seriousness... what? That all just rambled together and I have no idea what you're going on about other than hating the Switch for not having multimedia apps. If it makes you feel any better, we're getting Youtube tomorrow, and Netflix probably soon.

@link3710 and it's like the fifth time he's posted the same exact thing lol.

@nate2017
??? being a little harsh on the Switch, sure it ain't perfect, I love it as is but I understand others would like to see more (Netflix for me and I'm good), still, I mean most all of what you have (being polite) brought up as concerns and deciding factors for you have all been said probably 10's of thousands of times by the several hundred here (the ones that regularly comment daily) over the well over a year and a half the Switch been out, but it's mostly died down, so why you gettin' all Al Sharpton crazy preachy on this now ???

and how old are you and what country you live in ???
I paid $99 (after tax) for my NES (in the U.S.A.) when it first came out, where the Hell you gettin' $300-$400 for an "NES" from ???
