I think Toy Con 1 & 2 softwares are Two different games.
If they share Same softwares, how do i play Robot with Variety kits or play Piano with Robot carboards ?
Completely forgot Labo was a thing today. It's release was so muted. I'm sure it'll hit whatever targets they have, but just going by the general lack of any palpable excitement for it today, I'm guessing it'll only be popular among some kids and the super fans.
@YummyHappyPills I don't really think a game's age restriction has any effect on it's market. Just look at COD and GTA. Many parents are all too happy to knowingly buy their children adult rated games to keep them quiet.
As for Labo itself, I think the excitement for that has worn off. I am sure it will still sell but I am not expecting the huge figures Nintendo are hoping. Certainly not in the UK. Japan is the market it will do best in.

@TheTetrisGuy going after two completely different markets of people. Launching on the same day is irrelevant when they have comply different goals anyway. It's just people trying to arbitrarily say one is better over the other. Why? No clue
Nintendo always tries to diversity their market. And usually it entails very little actual growth outside of core gamers.
Switch is selling to core gamers. That's who it appeals to.
The sooner they embrace that the better. GameCube scared them off from a core gamer approach, and they've been diversifying ever since. But they DO have a place in the industry as a platform for serious gamers. And Switch has finally broken through.
I don't mind if they wanna at least try pulling some other people in with products like LABO, even if I personally feel like they're wasting their time. But who knows, maybe it'll work (I mean, of course it'll work, the question is to what extent). But even if it does... then what? Even if 5 million people bought the system for LABO over the coming years, then you've got 5 million people who own the system who will have very little interest in all the actual core games releasing. Maybe Nintendo's mass appeal games like Mario Kart but, even then, I know how casuals operate. They buy a game or two a year. Not exactly the kind of customers you want to fill your install base with. Idk, it doesn't matter.
I will now provide the community service of personally counting down the days to Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze.
