If I understand CoD games right, they switch developers off every year, right? So it might be within the realm of possibility that by the time they got comfortable with the Switch hardware, they were already in the midst of production. Maybe that's the case?
COD games historically have been announced for Nintendo platforms after the other consoles regardless.
So in short, it used to be 2 years development per game but PS4/XB1 increased that time to 3 years per game. 2019's CoD game will very likely be a futuristic CoD game made by Infinity Ward.
@Pazzo-ZaFool It's a yearly huge seller, notable for driving console sales around launch in the busy holiday period and a mainstay of the more frugal gamers who only buy one or two titles per year.
Quality aside, the fact a publisher like Activision Blizzard continues to skip the system, especially with releases they've bent over backwards to release before in years past, shows small the system is in terms of estimated revenue for them.
Now Playing: Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Crash Bandicoot 4
I'm not a fan of Call of Duty, I enjoyed playing Modern Warfare with my mates on their Xbox back when it came out but being a Nintendo gamer that was basically my only experience with the series until I bought Black Ops 2 for Wii U. It was on sale for under £3 and I knew I'd have some fun with the campaign and I did but once with was over it was forgotten.
However, watching my nephew playing BO3 and WW2 a lot, I have to say the zombie mode is really well done. If one ever came to Switch Iikely pick it up for that mode as well as the campaign but only after a heat discount. FPS just aren't really my think
Absolutely the old school gameplay of Doom though.

They obviously didn't hear that Nintendo are aiming for "EVERY SINGLE PERSON" (and every other creature with opposable thumbs, I imagine) to own a Switch...when they achieve that unlikely target - which I have no doubt they will - Activision-Blizzard will come crawling!
May I remind you all those games rumored for Switch like South Park, Crash Bandicoot, Undertale...
They just happened.
I'm willing to bet a favorable sum that these newer rumors of games like DB Fighter Z, Diablo 3 and COD BO4... are likewise coming to Switch.
They'll just be announced later once everyone is thoroughly convinced they're not coming. Just like Okami and South Park, etc. Then one day, out of the blue... BAM. We have had some very reliable and confident sources tell us these games are coming. I'll eat my hat if these games don't make the Switch. And my boots.

@JaxonH I would say I would hold you to that, but I am seeing a lot of people regretting similar proposals regarding a Smash announcement and doing asinine things so....
Now Playing: Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Crash Bandicoot 4
@JaxonH Gosh, in the excitement of it all I'd almost forgotten that we're getting Okami HD - thanks for reminding me! Man, I just can't stop grinning! Fab Direct!
So the updated lineup of known 2018 release dates (Nintendo games and 3rd party exclusives) is:
February - Bayonetta 1+2 (already released)
March - Kirby Star Allies
April - Nintendo Labo
May - DKC Tropical Freeze, Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition
June - Sushi Striker, Mario Tennis Aces
July - Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, Octopath Traveler
The only ones regretting their proposals are the ones who were betting that Smash wouldn't come.
It was leaked and rumored just like these other games were. Where there's smoke there's fire. Switch is a gold mine right now. Activision is gonna get CoD on Switch this year. And after DB Xenoverse 2 blasting the sales charts (probably working on pushing close to a million copies by now) bandai Namco is going to do everything in their power to get anything Dragonball related onto Switch, and probably any other anime-based game (eh hem, like Naruto)

With motion controls, with touch screen support...

Saving this just in case!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
Nintendo Switch, the ultimate port-machine. Well, at least it's great for those people who only own Switch or love portability that much, but for those who can own these games elsewhere, holy crap, bring out some water, because it's a barren time alright.
