I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite

Something that has the Pro Controller's battery life.

They need two one-handed controllers with a new 3D tracking system. Both controllers need an analog stick, two shoulder keys, and R3/L3 keys. I would like the right-handed controller to have a GameCube-style face button layout with the camera stick positioned in the secondary space. I would want the left-handed controller to feature the analog stick in the primary position with a scroll wheel off to the right side in the secondary space.

There would be a deluxe sku that comes with a fighter pad featuring a larger 8-way dpad, two shoulder keys, and six face buttons (the bottom row convex and the top row concave).

I'd personally like the best of the GameCube and Wii U Pro controllers. Gonna be interesting to see the big innovation NX has

Whatever they do it's going to be a step backwards from the GamePad. And I know people really dislike that thing but damn, it does its job well. Hell, if I had it my way you'd be able to get something like the GamePad for every console and as an accessory for PC gaming. Barring that.... the standard controller setup works well enough and the Pro Controller is a nice refinement of it.

"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"

@skywake: yeah idk what they could feasibly do that's new but practical, understandable, and cost effective at this point.

If Nintendo goes the traditional controller route, I'd like to see them push it forward. 15 years of stagnation is long enough IMO.

Replace the right stick with a circular touchpad in a that can rotate freely in a socket. That way we can use the rotation for camera control but we can replace the clunky analog control with a one-to-one mapping.

Add pressure sensors to the back of the controller, and more finely tune the haptic feedback. That way games can both make use of grip force and more precisely offer tactile response.

Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F

Please, let's not have another Wiimote. I just want a regular controller as the primary controller for once.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

But you have that on two consoles already.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Pro controller but with feedback/a bit more weight to it. Thing is awesome currently, but feels just oh-so-slightly cheap.

I think he means the XB1 and PS4.

That's completely irrelevant! Is he saying I should buy a console with games I don't enjoy and none of the franchises I like simply to play with a regular, gimmick-free controller?

@TeeJay: You should probably ask him yourself, but I'm pretty sure that's what he meant.

2 concave analog sticks (both on the top like the pro controller for wiiU has them)
4 face buttons
2 shoulder triggers
2 shoulder buttons
start, select and home button
built in screen (maybe a little smaller than on the wiiU gamepad too cut costs

however i think it should be possible to use the next nintendo handheld as a controller for the next console. maybe that's a big feature of the NX? would be pretty cool if you ask me

I want a Wii U Pro-controller with analog triggers (and of course, with a completely different name).

It's simple. Everything else (Wii-motes, Gamepads etc) should be optional. OPTIONAL.

It would also be nice to be able to use Nintendo's next handheld as a controller for their next consoles (similar to the Smash Controller app on the 3DS, only for all games), provided that the handheld has all the necessary buttons (which it should, since the New 3DS already does). But again, this should be optional.

You don't like a single franchise available on PS4/XB1? I find that hard to believe. If there isn't an innovative controller, I can't enjoy ANY game with the controller I want.

Optional controllers don't get used. We have 30 years of evidence to show that.
