Topic: We don`t need EA on Switch !!!

@Anti-Matter I’m perfectly aware of the fact that there are a lot of Sims fans too, I was mainly focusing on the Sports side of things though since that is what EA is more known for with yearly Madden and FIFA releases

Nintendo systems probably would even sell without any 3rd party games. However at the end of the day nearly every developer / publisher would strengthen a Nintendo system. Even EA. Games like FIFA, Madden NFL and Sims do make a difference.

We actually DO need EA on Switch, regardless of personal sentiments. At least @Burning_Spear understands that. And of course we need to see past our own preferences and must understand that other people would like to have the choice, because they like other types of games.

Well, I could say that's a complete load of crap, but suffice to say that it's just your personal opinion. Before EA games were rife with micro-transactions and what not, there were actually quite a lot of good, high quality games and/or games series coming from their studio:

Some of the 007 games, Army of Two, Burnout, The Bard's Tale, the initial Battlefield series, Command & Conquer, Crysis, Dead Space, Dragon Age, Fifa, Knockout Kings, Lord of the Rings, Left 4 Dead, Mass Effect, Madden, Medal of Honor, Mirror's Edge, NBA Live, the first 3 new Need for Speed games, NFL, NHL, PGA, Rock Band, The Sims, SimCity, Skate, SSX, Test Drive, Theme Park, Tiger Woods, UFC, Ultima, and so on.

More than enough decent series, so there'll likely be something for (almost) anyone there, unless you let some silly hatred for EA blind your vision from seeing that there are actually some decent games among them, and then there's also the odd little gem amongst them, such as Unravel, which was a great and charming little game, and a game like that would have actually been a perfect fit for the Switch.

So, in short: we need ALL or at least as much third parties as possible on the Switch, because that will mean more choice in software and one big third party will attract another and another and so on, so it is actually important for the continued viability of the platform to have as many third parties as possible making games for the Switch. And not just for a single outing either...

@ThanosReXXX @Burning_Spear Yeah we definitely need EA. It's a bit silly to say we don't want EA, considering their games have mass-market appeal with few alternatives that would really help Nintendo systems.

@ThanosReXXX @shadow-wolf With Battlefront 2, Need for Speed and UFC. In the current climate, I would argue Switch has dodged a bullet. Switch needs strong, compelling titles. EA has to prove that it can supply them. Saying the fastest selling console in Nintendo's history needs EA without them even proving what they can bring to the table is just capricious. Based on what? Show me the games. Then I'll happily wonder if it needs them or not.

I ONLY play The Sims and My Sims series.
I play cute games from EA.

@premko1 No, not really. And like I said: before the whole micro-transaction thing, these games were of a pretty high quality. Besides Ubisoft and Activision, there aren't that many publishers with so many series that can cater to such a wide audience.

You'd have to combine several smaller publishers to make that somewhat possible, but it still wouldn't even come close. Take off the blinders, man. Just because you don't like them or their games, doesn't mean that there shouldn't be any EA games on a Nintendo platform at all.

And for the record: I also don't like the stuff they're pulling right now, and I also don't like ALL of the series I previously mentioned, but I still understand that we need them regardless. And I like to be thoughtful and think about my fellow gamers, instead of just my own opinion...

Choices, my friend. We need choices, since there are so many tastes. There will always be something that you and I don't like, but which will be interesting to someone else. And even for that reason alone, we need them on Switch.

@GrailUK I'm not really the capricious kind. And no offense, but I have already quite elaborately explained, in two reasonably lengthy comments, why we need them. But that's not just exclusive to EA: that goes for most of the bigger third parties.

And if you want an example of that, just look at what Bethesda did for the perspective of the Switch for some mainstream media and gamers: all of a sudden, the platform is taken a considerable bit more seriously. Now imagine what would happen if EA dropped one or two of its larger series on there: it will create yet another wave of similar reactions, and all of that will ultimately lead to more sales and more people being happy about a Nintendo platform once again than just their regular fans/fanboys, something that's long overdue...

Ooh... I will buy All DLC and Expansion Packs for The Sims 4 PS4 !
But if The Sims 4 on Switch, i will throw my money to both EA and Nintendo.
They can take all my money for Beloved The Sims 4 on Switch with DLCs and Expansion Packs.

Btw, playing The Sims 4 console without DLCs and Expansion Packs = Eating cereals without any Milk and Toppings.

Btw, last time EA did some experiments with their different games for Wii and NDS such as My Sims, Sim Animal, Charming Girl Club, etc. Are those games considered as part of Wii's / NDS' success ?

If U want to play ea games buy an xbox or ps - on switch we only get some crap like Fifa. Ea simply is out of ideas - no innovation, same thing on all consoles. Remember n4s nitro ? U can do something nice for consoles not as powerfull - you have to have a good idea.
