So, the dock actually does slant inward from bottom to top. It's a tighter fit at top and it's supposed to be like that to reduce play back and forth while seated. But even if it did have a slight curve it's not gonna affect functionality. I work in a metrology lab so I live and breath dimensions and tolerances. And there's probably a little bit of tolerance. As long as it doesn't prevent the system from docking they'll ship em.
As for the Switch, I checked mine with a steel rule and it is slightly out of flatness on the back side, but I wouldn't have even noticed had I not read your post. It looks fine, and I can't tell unless I hold a straight edge against it. Screen is flat, obviously.
So ya, Idk. I wouldn't pay any mind to the dock, and as for the Switch, I guess it depends how bad it is. If it's to the point the screen is curving inward then ya, that's a serious problem. But if it's just a slight flatness issue on the back plastic, I wouldn't think it's a problem. Being that way out of the box means it won't get worse. Whereas if it was happening after point of sale then I'd be concerned because it could progressively become worse

Ah, yours must've been worse than mine then. If I lay mine down slanted so just the edge touches and shine a light from behind it, I can see a little light shining through. But I can't notice anything in normal use. Like I said if it weren't for your post I'd have never known

Are the switch units meant to have a slight curve? I think mine does but I'm confused now as to if its my eyes, that's the actual design or my switch unit is faulty.
@ProjectX1991 No they are not. Use a waterscale or something if you are not sure if your switch is warped or not. If it really is warped and you can prove it you can send it to Nintendo and they will give you a new unit.
My dock is bent slightly at the top too, but my switch goes in perfect even with a screen protector. It ends up that my switch is slightly curved. When laying on the screen, the back is curved up maybe half a millimeter, but when laying on the back, one side curves up a millimeter. Isn't a big deal, and it would be more trouble to return it than deal with it. It also isn't noticeable, unless you lay the tablet on a table with no Joy-Cons
