I've done some research and I cannot find any answers to suggest that this would work or fail. Essentially, I spend most of my day at a desk and it isn't a problem for me to keep a controller in my desk or locker. Is there any confirmation that we can use the tablet with the pro controller? The reason I ask is so I don't need to either carry my existing dock with me or purchase a second dock (one for home, one for work/Uni). I can't see a reason why not, but none of the videos or reviews have seen the tablet used in this manner. That is, at least from the research i've done.
One of the videos from the London(?) preview shows the Switch being removed from the dock, and the screen briefly displays the current users, and the controllers that are connected. One is the pro controller.
The Switch is independent from the dock. Anything you can do with the Switch when docked can be done when undocked (except for use of the LAN adapter, as the Switch must be docked in order for it to be usable). And charging. Duh.

Very cool. Good to know. This means I can forego the cost of an additional dock. I'm really not fussed about screen size when playing away from home, so that's fine. But, it means i'll be buying two pro-controllers.
