I disagree. I have the first three games on the PC - all arcade ports - and they are insanely hard. The arcade was designed to take all your money - so I understand why it was so tough. The console was designed to be a little fairer - the opponents don't react with precisely the best counter every time you touch a button. I'd prefer the console version.

While this is true, it would be much easier to tone down the difficulty of the arcade versions than make the console versions as good as the arcade originals. The arcade versions already have hidden vendor settings for difficulty (also for blood, pricing, freeplay and such). Of course, they were usually set to hard to eat quarters. The arcade originals look, sound and play far better than the console ports, just enable the difficulty settings on the main menu and its the perfect versions of those games.

I'll say two things. First, if you don't like violent games, don't buy them. More games the Switch receives the better, especially from third parties!

Two, I would LOVE an MK Trilogy HD remake in the same style as SFII Ultra. That being said, I wonder if it would undermine what WB is doing with the last two MK games. They have spent all this time and resources recreating the MK universe. I'm not sure Ed Boon and co. are willing to do that.

Hopefully, something MK comes to Switch sooner than later. MK is now one of those titles that belongs on Nintendo systems.

Huum interesting opinion. I agree that more games are good but MK is just so brutal and violent that it's on a whole other level. Thank god for Zeldas family friendly violence.

I loved the first Mortal Kombat game, but it would be incredibly obsolete today. I like a lot Mortal kombat 9 but it was not the same thing as the first one. It came really close but the first one is still the best relatively to its own time. Also X-Ray moves looked really stupid in the middle of the fight, they should have been added as different kind of fatalities because watching someone getting damaged so much and then continue fighting was just too stupid in my opinion, it made the violence of the game look completely meaningless. With Mortal Kombat X they really brought the violence way too far in my opinion, it is not even entertaining anymore it is just disturbing. I don't like that much most of the other Mortal Kombat games. Armageddon and Shao Lin Monks were immensely fun but really looked too much cheap and unpolished to really be completely enjoyable. They felt too much like guilty pleasures, I just enjoyed them but didn't really like them. I'd like so much a game like those, expecially like Armageddon, but polished enough to actually like it! Mortal Kombat Trilogy is not a game I like that much either. I hate Mortal Kombat 3 and there are too many things in Ultimate Mortal Kombat Trilogy that reminds me of MK3, but at least MK Trilogy is much better anyway so I could be tempted to give it another try.

I used to be a ripple user like you, then I took The Arrow in the knee
