MK trilogy is being rereleased and coming to the Switch... why is no one talking bout this game? I’ve been hesitant to get Street Fighter 2, glad I waited now the anniversary edition is out, but MK trilogy is a must buy day one for me.
There is no confirmation of any Mortal Kombat games being released on Switch. The only sites I could find were two "fan" wikis which contain articles on make-believe/hypothetical games.
Plus, we're a little sick of ports of old fighting games (which is all that Capcom is offering us). It's time for new releases or ports of more recent fighting games.
@sillygostly I see, I was worried it was just a rumour... well as an old gamer who played endless hours with MK, the MK trilogy remake would be awesome for me. I wouldn’t say no to the latest MK being ported either. I wish we could get UFC and boxing also.
@DizzyDee81 : They may come to the Switch at some stage, especially if it can maintain momentum, but the publishers/developers of Mortal Kombat trashed the Wii U a few years ago and hadn't even bothered to rerelease the old games on the system, and the last Mortal Kombat game on a Nintendo console that I recall was Mortal Kombat Armageddon on Wii, which was over 10 years ago.
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
I loved Mortal Kombat 1 through to U3, ha, still remember the brutality for Striker in UMK3. (HP, LP, HK, LK, HP, LP, LP, LK, HK, HP, LK, LK, LK) the rest kinda lost their edge to me, so played them a few times but never got into them.K
If it was a collection of the early ones count me in for sure
Really??! OMG that's my favorite fighting game of all time! When's it coming out? Reading the comments in this thread I feel less of a freak for remembering 20 year old video game moves
I would love a version of Mortal Kombat Trilogy for Switch with all of the characters and no loading times. The loading times on the Playstation version are brutal and ruin the experience.

IMO, a better option would be to release arcade ports of 1, 2, 3&U3 in a pack. The arcade versions of these games were greatly superior than their console ports.
Agreed for those games mentioned.
The only console port that was better than the arcade version was MK4. In the console version you could play as Goro, which is something you couldn’t do in the arcade version.
I disagree. I have the first three games on the PC - all arcade ports - and they are insanely hard. The arcade was designed to take all your money - so I understand why it was so tough. The console was designed to be a little fairer - the opponents don't react with precisely the best counter every time you touch a button. I'd prefer the console version.
Doom, Skyrim and soon to be released Wolfenstein 2 are all violent games on the Switch. Skyrim has some violent moments as well, not to mention Dark Souls and Bayonetta. I like the variety the platform offers and I'm glad it has a few adult games to play. Mortal Kombat would be a welcome addition to an already impressive library of games.
I'll say two things. First, if you don't like violent games, don't buy them. More games the Switch receives the better, especially from third parties!
Two, I would LOVE an MK Trilogy HD remake in the same style as SFII Ultra. That being said, I wonder if it would undermine what WB is doing with the last two MK games. They have spent all this time and resources recreating the MK universe. I'm not sure Ed Boon and co. are willing to do that.
Hopefully, something MK comes to Switch sooner than later. MK is now one of those titles that belongs on Nintendo systems.
Huum interesting opinion. I agree that more games are good but MK is just so brutal and violent that it's on a whole other level. Thank god for Zeldas family friendly violence.
