Topic: UK Pre-Orders

I really wanted the Nintendo Switch after it was sold out in the US for a month. As soon as I heard about the Splatoon 2 beta testing in March I knew I had to have it at or near launch. I pre-ordered the Console on February 17th through a company called Game in the UK but if the weight was going to be over 2lbs they would cancel my pre order as it couldn't be internationally shipped. Rather then take a chance I now have my console being shipped to a parcel forwarding company. Basically the switch will ship to myukmailbox.com they will take a picture of it when it arrives and put it in my designated area at which point they will ship it via UPS etc. It will end up costing me all in all an additional 40 dollars but I will have a console hopefully to me in the first week. My big thing is if this was somewhat easy to achieve why isn't anyone else doing this and if they are how the hell is the UK still taking pre-orders? What worries me is that they are taking pre-orders for consoles they don't have and counting on a secondary shipment to cover their pre orders a month after launch.

GAME are notorious for giving false information in the UK. They recently shut a lot of stores because they are a struggling company so they will happily take as many pre orders as they can get while not caring what information they have about allocation. I have a switch pre order though them as I want to go to the midnight launch but I have an Amazon order also as a backup.

If you ordered online on the 17th Feb then there is no chance your order will be released for launch. Sorry.

@ChrispyNoodle who else could I pre order from in the UK and know I have a console or is it sold out there now as well?

Also interesting is today they stopped guaranteeing the grey pre orders for switch on game for launch but no update on the red and blue neon

@TacticalFear316 you could try Nintendo store UK I guess. I've spoken with numerous GAME employees on their online live chat and they give me conflicting information regarding launch every time. Communication seems to be very poor across their entire company and I get the feeling they make a lot of their information up to lip service the customers. We shall see come launch day I guess.

I seen amazon uk is accepting pre orders still I may just swap over and get one off them or direct off nintendo uk. Either way I likely wont get my console until March 8th or 10th

@TacticalFear316 I know Argos are taking pre-orders too but they take the money straight away.Whether they have the actual stock to cover it though is another thing.Your best bet is Amazon UK.I've got one in for the Neon but it says it will arrive around the 7th,it may come before.I used a Amazon Prime trial for 1 day delivery to my UK address, then I'll get my mum to send it over to Thailand.I'm still hoping for new stock on Amazon US before then though as it'll work out a lot cheaper for me.Good luck!

Game are terrible full stop. In store is a con, staff have serious attitude problem and there online customer services don't give a damn. If they don't change there business model there going to go the same way as gamestation.
